I noticed when an old thread of mine from 2008 got bumped by somebody just recently, some pics I posted in that thread are not showing, in a randomly fashion. No idea why some are visible and some not. Didn't delete any pics from my gallery ever.

You can either just post the image as http: or browse the site in that mode and there won't be problems.

We are working on this and hope to have a solution tomorrow.

There's nothing wrong other than https: images not being cached correctly.

I have to move this thread to a place where our hosting company can see it...

I see nothing, it's not blocked by Firefox or AdBlockPlus, etc.

Notice that the Content-Length header is 0, even though the HTTP status code is 200. The data is simply not being sent.

For what it's worth, sometimes enabling gzip compression on images from certain server configurations displays the same symptoms: Images display for some users, and occasionally for other users, depending on client browser. Sometimes the user can refresh and see the images, sometimes they can't. I notice that you use DomainsByProxy for registration, so I cannot find more info on whether your ISP is known for having this issue, but for example GoDaddy hosting frequently exhibits the same issue due to server/Apache configuration.
