Wow that's shocking. And right after retirement. Was he sick?

The same thing happened to my dads secretary/friend. She retired and died from a heart attack one week later. RIP to both.

i remember thinking to myself,, whats he gonna do now that he is retired,, reporting is a huge part of his life...i sort of thought something might be off....well rest in peace man you shure led quite a life...yeehaw

Reports indicate...." He had cut down his work load over the last few years due to declining health. His family has not revealed his exact cause of death." At 84, it could be anything. Being long time smoker....perhaps heart, pulmonary problems.

Anyway, a good long run and honest journalist in some of the most precarious places reporting war and unrest. He's at peace now.
