Vote No to to legalization before it is too late, or is it already?

Let us use California as an example for a start.
Californians have no protections at all under AUMA.
The Section 10 amendment… gives the State Legislature the right to change pretty much anything in the Adult Use of Marijuana Act except its purpose. And its purpose is to raise tax money.

This legislation will enable law makers to legalize cannabis first, then strip you of you right to grow and impose what ever restrictions they wish without a vote of the people. A special, and unusual, provision in AUMA provides that none of these cannabis taxes will go to benefit the General Fund, or to public schools or community colleges.

If legalized, piss tests for employment will remain the same!

The new legislation could potentially open a door for big corporations that are interested only in profit. It puts consumers and communities in danger and destroys the established unique environment of California marijuana market. Leticia Pepper claims that some corporations are already building a distribution infrastructure. Charlo Greene, an owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club, supports the claim, saying that ‘any person who cares about social justice first, before business, should vote no for the Adult Use of Marijuana Act in California.’

At least when it is legal people will not be jailed for cannabis anymore. OOOPS!
The act would create new felonies and misdemeanors. Those caught in violation of the law could receive some serious jail time. After passing, a possession of excessive amounts of cannabis or growing marijuana could send you to jail up to three years.
Hey! WTF everybody said legalization will put an end to people going to prison for cannabis?

This is just a lie to get you to vote yes to legalization and then they will pull the rug out from under you!

Jeffrey Zinsmeister, executive vice president of Smart Approaches to Marijuana (SAM), a coalition of medical professionals, public policy experts.

Zinsmeister said The state should have gone for a medical or "science-based" approach rather than a corporate one.

"You know there's something real wrong with a marijuana legalization initiative if the guy who wrote the medical marijuana initiative in that state is against it," he said of the proposed law.

Dennis Peron, a coauthor of the proposition that granted California's current medical marijuana, does indeed oppose Prop 64. Like others, he said it undermines medical weed and isn't necessary.

Power to the people, not corporate America!

I think it may just be too late already.....Say good by to home growing and say hello to mail order trash weed. You will soon be forced to take what they want to give you and for a price they will be able to set as soon as their is no longer any competition.

If you disagree speak up, but back it up with facts also.

Home growing, possession allowances are always better than none.

Why?

Because it allows people to talk about cannabis, without looking over their shoulder for a cop first. This allows the truth to flow and when the truth flows, legislation begins to, and continues to, ease up.

Freeing the cannabis is a process, starting with the correct education of the naysaying adult public. Thems the facts, jack. ;)

You can't fight the inevitable. The smokers will make this decision, the only thing growers can do is live with it and make the most of it.

Goodbye?

You're afraid of 6 months in jail?

Losing some stuff?

Relative to literally every state in the country there are no penalties...Even if you were going to see all 6 of those months, which you probably aren't. That's really too high a risk?

http://norml.org/laws/item/california-penalties

Just don't get caught making one of the banned extracts

Funnily enough, I noticed the opposite happening in Colorado the last few years. Fewer and fewer employers are drug testing, moving to capability based hiring/firing. You screw up, you get fired. You don't screw up, you keep the job and get promoted.

Random drug screening is for managers who don't know how to manage people. :tiphat:

With the number of physically mature folks over the age of 18/21 (take your pick), that are still acting like children, it's my semi educated opinion that it's already too late. These 'adult' children are only creating more of the same.
These people want what they want & they want it now with no regard to who it may hurt now or in the future. They only care about themselves!

Guess the non growing smokers better get used to wal mart weed then. People are going to get what they can afford, not some over hyped name. The hype is mainly a forum thing.

What did people think legalization meant?

Anyone with a brain was screaming DECRIM, DONT CORPORATIZE!

I can go buy a MMJ card for 250 bones, it allows me to buy the most disgusting "Cannabis" I've ever laid lips on (so disgusting it doesnt deserve to be called Cannabis, let alone the strains they claim) YET, its illegal to grow, and they track the dispensary purchases to a POLICE DATABASE who will check and make sure your sack came from a dispensary, even though it's not a prescription-based program. They are sending MMJ cardholders to jail in AZ for possession of untaxed weed. Looking up your transaction history on the spot. No match to what your holding? JAIL.

Soon it will be like CAN, where you have to have the script/tax stamp attached to the bag,or..
JAIL.

I suggest people make sure you know what you are voting for before casting your vote.

yeah this last statement is so true in another context, won't say which of course for everyone's good but you know what I mean! ;) yeah I think no one should go to jail for cannabis, and think everyone should be entitled to grow as much as possible, until I see doctors and lawyers and business tycoon types and everyone who would have been against it for their own gains benefitting off it now disproportionately instead of who should benefit by it, breeders or small to mid size growers, not the rich and certainly not soulless corporations who donated money to oppression in the past, or simllar minded rich or corporations today. I still think more freedom, if that is really the case, is always better than the same old same old or less freedom but the water is murky for sure and makes it far from safe to swim in

This worldwide agenda is only small part of big game for elites ( lets call them 1 %) Broken states de ...... are only the tool for rich, from Fed to Monsanto..you cant expect much from their culture :)
Great October Revolution will be 100 years old this november...just compare those numbers! Empires and states collaped but we still cant plant few seeds without fear.

oh you are trying to play me aren't you? all fellow sounding Russian like name and all, but I am not Putin and neither are you someone else starting with a T. I think we are all going to pay for the ignorance of a minority that "won" only by a flawed system and for selfish or stupid motives not tor the common good or for the greater good that we all fought for and that cannabis could provide,,, oh shit better just quit now but must fight on but the greedy few 1 or .1 percent must pay and must be defeated, especially those that, got to believe almost all of them, those that don't donate at least 50% of their income and wealth (and being oh hate the word but "conservative" as I would donate 90%) the system favors the greedy the selfish the capatlising (AKA predatory taking advantage of the poor and less well off for their own disproportionate gain) scum that would seek to hurt others to benefit their own sadistic greed and lust for power. Instead the good the generous and the selfless that should be rewarded the most.. why should they the greediest and most self absorbed arrogant POS's be called "elite" implying they are what we should all strive for when the opposite is the truth? They are the embodiment of tyranny and power and greed and hate is all the same as the lust for wealth... Putin and Trump and all the wealthiest are scum that should be reviled and shunned not aspired to, forgotten about as part of a greater good that helps the whole as much as it helps individuals and helps everyone more in the end... fuck the 1 or .1 percent the rest of us deserve to prosper far more and it is long since time we assert our will and put them in their place! Fuck trickle down it should trickle up and the rest of us should benefit before they do, they will still find a way to suck more out the the system than the rest of us that is just their sucking nature, but we can put them far more in their place and limit their parasitism to a minimum... thanks for understanding all points of view. Again I think any vote for decr... or leg... is a step forward however small and seem to vote for that kind of thing but the rest of us should benefit over the already rich when it comes to cannabis for sure... good night my friends

That revolution you speak of should have been followed forward in a different way, overthrow tyranny yes, something better yes, not more tyranny still I think what followed was better than capitializing on the less fortunate by the more fortunate, but either way that did not work and eventually neither will the equally neolithic and propped up by subsidies and false "success" measures that "free enterprise" lures you into... we need a better way that benefits all not the few! Reward the scientists, the selfless and the good, punish hard the greedy celebrities and billionaires that keep sucking and sucking and taking and taking! They deserve and believe will get a really hot place in the most uncomfortable places, yeah hope they see reason first and that would be avoided as I always want to not wish harm or hurt or whatever, but how llkely is that? So yeah hope they get what they deserve whatever that is

This is largest international stoners forum anyway :)
1917 and 1937 - you can not compare these two events. Two worlds, two systems same side of coin - slavery and decent quantity of latent fashism. I meant that many generations and states disapered in that era and we still havent learned nada.
Ministry of love and peace in short :)
Im a economist, I see now west capitalism same as fashist regime-same methods, same culture, same master. Look how DEA runs business, they come with armour and 20 assoult rifles..all in black.
Btw fashism is derivative of corporate capitalism. You play their game or you loose...you can also passivly wait but outcome is 80 years old.
Private prisons, private police, private army ( sucking some D in Syria and Yemen atm) are ther to stay...Space Toker all eyes are on people of united States if they defeat their goverment, deep state, all 30 safety agencies...we would surely legalise ganja in no time.
I was born in Yugoslavija, proud member of last Pioner generation-lost generation, nick came from Russian writer Korolenko. Konoplja is cannabis in every slavic language so..

Fascist, not fashist even though it sounds that way, I agree it was awful and seemed to have no redeeming qualities, and the US model is more and more headed that way.. and why is it so hard for the last like 10 years to get 22 caliber regular bullets and not anything else? I just want to get rid of things hanging off my bird feeders and should for god's sakes! I always have thought and still do think socialism/communism as long as it respects freedom is a far better choice or system than capitalism, where those that are rich get richer off of "capitaizing" aka leeching aka taking advantage of AKA oppressing everyone else.... and we all got to just expect it all to "trickle down" and while they sit around on their fat humps bebefitting from evil sick greed the rest of us are expected to wait around for them to throw us a bone, AKA trickle down, which they never do in any meaningfull way... I say they must pay, know what it is like to live off the lesser cuts or scraps for a change, and that it should be trickle up not down, AKA the rest of us benefit first and primarily. So I do favor the reform of the system to allow those a bit plus or minus average income to benefit more off of legalization much more so than the rich.

Bah, in case you haven't noticed, the US is fucked.

Elections are bought and sold, as are politicians. There is only the choice they want people to vote on, no more, no less.
They get to decide what is even in front of you to vote on in the first place.

I'm firmly of the opinion that the rat race is over and the rats have won.

The way I see it is if you really want to change the world, you have to go make a few billion dollars and start greasing the pads of politicians to see the changes you want go into effect. Been this way since the Egyptians ran the game. Owners and slaves.

Just enjoy growing while you can before the world plunges into catastrophe.

With the biggest two religious ideologies either seeking total religious rule or total destruction vis a vis a death cult of followers who truly believe that some savior is going to come out of the sky and start the "end of times", it's no wonder.

Death cults.

Religious death cults.

Blecch. Humans are idiots.

FWIW, North Korea doesn't even consider cannabis a drug, and it's totally legal there.
No restriction on it.

If that doesn't prove to you that even the most stifling of human made political systems can fry your noodle with weird logic, then I don't know what will.

"Our Prices Have Almost Doubled:" Medical Marijuana Users Turn To The Street
The voters spoke, and legalized recreational marijuana in Nevada, but there have been some unintended consequences. Some buyers have been forced to return to the black market, despite the legalization.

Some medical marijuana patients say they cannot afford “the price gouging” at dispensaries, so they’re turning to the streets.

“It changed the whole quality of my life,” Emily Wilson said.

Wilson found refuge in Las Vegas because of medical marijuana.

“I was pretty much bedridden,” Wilson said.

A chest surgery left the yoga instructor in pain for years — pain that eventually, only cannabis could cure.

“My life changed. I was off all of my medicine after six to eight months,” Wilson said.

But now, the price has gone up for her herbal medication — after voters opted to legalize the drug for recreational use.

“Our prices have almost doubled in some places,” Wilson said.

Wilson said she’s heard of some patients who have opted to leave the dispensary and turn to the streets for their medication.

“Oh yes. 100 percent they are,” Wilson said.

So many stories of legalization making things harder for people to meet their need in a cost effective manner.

If you not allowed to grow your own you may not be able to afford cannabis under the new laws.
