A Taste of Africa from Malawi

great work zanddar, im sure those are great. mine a just a bit off the finish line now, my guess is 2 weeks. Until now I thought the resin production was decent but not amazing, even accounting for the increase in production I was expecting in their final weeks I thought it wouldn't be anything to write home about. But then the last week and a half it started to explode with both resin and bud size filling out :)

Enjoying smoking this.Lots of resin and potency.
Fruity taste and smell.Strong stony high with sativa energy.
Lasts for hours and another hit is all you need.
Can be scary to the weak.

Definitely want seeds from this.
Will be keeping the clone for awhile.

Have a great day.

That's the character of the malawi seed line: very vigorous and high yielding sativa, with an overpowering scary trippy effect that is very long lasting, a dense and intense experience.

Your grow diaries set a great standard of how our sativas should be grown indoors. Im going to stick your malawi and panama thread if you don't mind ;) They are informative to say the least!

The Malawi start to fillin and become dense around 11 weeks.
I have some that will finish around 14 weeks.

I came here to do an update and did not see my thread right away.Thought someone deleted me.
Been testing Malawi all week and am a bit scared.

What an honor dubi thx very much.
Someone above smiles upon me this day.:)

I will say the Malawi yield very well. The buds are dense and heavy.I hate thin, runny, leafy sativa bud.
The plants are super vigorous and beautiful to grow.

I have tested M8 and M10 and both are very potent.
M10 gives a quick blast to the head.Like being on a rollercoaster and the person behind you grabs your head and squeezes it,as you go over the top.
It's like hang on or do I want to go over and have another puff.
Can be a bit intense at times, but always fun.

M8 is more of a dreamers smoke, very cerebral.
The mind drifts from place to place, experiencing the sensations and the visuals of each thought.
I like a sativa that helps my mind explore the universe.

I have a few more Malawi females from this last seed.
Today will mark day 1 flower for these 3.

Also some pics of the male I am using.
Pulled him from the flower room to collect some pollen.
So he is not as full as he would be,but still lots of flower everywhere.

Those are beautiful...and inspiring, Zanddar!!! I have a Malawi that's been in flower since 2/22. Very early...I think we're going to get to know each other quite well over the next few months. Doesn't seem quite ready to stop stretch yet at day 38 (or whatever) - then again, she's under 12/12 not 11/13. Yet. That day may come sometime in the not too distant future.

These are jungle plants. They grow real big man.
I thought if I grew him real big,he could pollinate some Kush down the street.

I dropped pollen on M8,M10,M13 and an old Ripper mom.
I plan to use this male on my Jacks Cleaner cut too.
Whenever I find a good male,I use him on my best.

I have 8 female and 1 male selected from 2nd lot.
3 female I put into flower last night and 5 female are in veg.
Some pics of the Malawi in veg and the 3 I just put into flower.
Pic also of the male M9 from lot 2.

Pics of the fruity M10 seeded.

My veg room needs more plants.
Will be starting a new strain soon.

Malawi at 40

Malawi at 40

Hey all...This thread seems so convivial, I thought I would post a few pics of my Malawi here rather than start my own thread. I hope I'm not intruding or hijacking - if so, let me know and I'll go -sob- elsewhere.

At any rate...here she is at about 40 days. Logistically speaking, she's under a 1K HPS and growing in 3 gallon smart pots of coco coir. I'm using Botanicare Pure Blend Pro as base nutes. I decided to go with the "classic" look rather than LST and/or topping. She just called for it and I couldn't deny her.

Her flowering is just beginning to come on...oh, and incidentally, she has continued to grow up until this point - a 39 day stretch...she appears to be settling down -and I still have a little room to spare- but I'm hoping that enough is enough and she has reached close to her full height. The bud sites are plentiful. The buds -thus far- seem a bit wispy but the calyxes have not begun to swell yet - I'm just watchin' the show with awe. And there's A LOT more to come - god willing- I'm sure.

The outdoor plants are very nice.
Now we see why they won.Thx dubi

Thx mayan for the nice pics.Good to see how others grow them.
They take about 5 weeks to get started. After 10 weeks they put on size.

This is dry bud from M8 and M13.
They are both cerebral.

M13 has more of a powerful heavy stone.
My mind drifts to distant places.
Produces nice bud too.

Will keep fruity M10 and M13.Try the clones again.

Good Day

Yep, great yield and resin production Zanddar :)

Malawi smell is not problematic in terms of intensity like could be an afghani skunk hybrid but her flowers are much more powerful. The original killer malawi mum is all about the potency and vigour, her aroma is quite rude so we have tried to improve it to produce the malawi in seed form, you can find offsprings with much improved aromas and taste than the original killer malawi mum.

What are your planning for the malawi males ? :yummy:
Sorry, dont mean to throw things OT, but I find that quote AWESOME Dubi

Zanddar- Awesome thread/info/pics. Thanks for sharing:thank you:
