Got to hand it to Sessions for refusing to quit after The Don threw him under the bus. Trump ain't thinking about weed. He wants to get rid of Muller which won't really help him at all. He would have to fire Sessions and several others in Justice before he could get some toddy to fire Muller. How exciting.

Oh, it has gotten quite saucy!

I don't think AG. Sessions give two shits what President Trump thinks of him at this point. He has wanted access to the DOJ for his entire career and now he has it, he'll have to fire him.

"Trump ain't thinking about weed." - No more then any other bargaining chip.

Back to AG.Sessions, if/once (I don't think he can help himself) President Trump him fires him it will be part of a larger "blood bath". He'll have to fire more then one to get to SC.Mueller.
:lurk:

Unfortunately the long in the short of it is, from the MJ communities view point a lot more live will be needlessly taken and/or ruined in the name of a failed "War on Drugs". AG.Sessions will and has made changes that will effect lives until they are undone. It's not always easy to undo these things quickly, as we've seen before. It cost precious political capital that is often in short supply.

Be Safe,
MK:ying:

iirc for state or local police departments to secure funds from asset forfeiture they had to involve federal agencies...

i may be wrong, so don't get all bent.

Yes and no.
The local LEO can but it is much more difficult. Some state laws limit the practice or set a higher bar of proof like requiring a conviction. So they involve the Feds there by almost assuring they win and receive a portion of the proceeds for the forfeiture auction.

Right. The state/local LE were running amok, and a lot of states started passing laws to put some type of check/balance on the practice of stealing anything LE wanted. Then the LE that had become dependent on the money they were steeling, just started running the same scam under the federal law. Then the federal law was shut down (some what) to help curb the LE from running totally unchecked. Well Sessions just rolled back the federal rules to give the LE free run again, for a cut of the money.

OMG, it is unreal how much I hate cops... Just thinking about it is getting me quite agitated. I have been robbed, beaten, and kidnapped by f'n cops, but have never been convicted or even charged with shit. I really wonder what percentage of cops are dirty?

I'm sure they did, but it doesn't change the fact that the asshat Sessions undid the little progress that was made by the last administration. Obamas slogan was "Forward". The current administrations slogan seems to be "Backwards".

"forward"..... yea. Heard that before......

O yea, Lenin. “Vpered”. Forward refereed to the march from capitalism to Marxism or socialism. So I am for one glad this admin is moving away from that, not backwards. Still not a Trump fan though.

Asset forfeiture was created to go after kingpins to hopefully defund and hurt them in the pocketbook. The sad part is it was never intended to be used to go after the common Joe until LE figured out what a cash cow it was.

I read an article the other day about a prosecutor in Illinois that created a “forfeiture” task force, kind of like his own police force, to patrol I-80. They’d pull people over and immediately call in the K9 unit and then seize what they can. Crazy. There was some loophole in the state law he was exploiting but the Ill Supreme Court has since shut it down.

Unicoi co. here in east TN on the NC border was doing much the same. every single traffic stop was drawn out in order to give a K-9 officer time to get there in hopes of an engineered "alert". reason for stop did not matter- tail light out, cracked lens...state finally shut that shit down, to a degree. took them WAY too fucking long, in my opinion. no one in their right mind goes through Unicoi co. to NC anyway, just to be safe. stay on I-81 & turn toward Asheville on I-40. DO NOT TRAVEL THROUGH UNICOI ON I-181/26. DON"T FUCKING DO IT!:tiphat:

That is not cool about TN! I was thinking of traveling down there for the eclipse. Coming from a legal state, you start to think twice about leaving that state.

At a minimum I'm getting a haircut and some business-casual clothes to wear while driving around, I can look very Republican if I need to.

Last year more was taken due to asset forfeiture, than in every burglary in the country combined.I saw cops episode where they were joyously talking about taking a van from a young girl caught with a small amount of weed. The fucking pigs were laughing about how it,will make a great vehicle for stakeouts.

I lived in a small town in the early 90's when "DARE" was the big thing, and they were just figuring out asset forfeiture. Well the local coke dealer drove around in a new vet, and they popped him for something or other, and took his vet. They painted it up with the DARE logo, and were having fun driving it around town. Well the coke dealer lawyered up, and forced them into having to sell the vet, that he promptly had a buddy buy for him. He continued to drive it around town with the DARE crap all over it for the next year or so. It was freaking awesome!

Is there a website which has a map of which counties' and states' Pig-type-cops are robbing the most people ?

All I know now is ... avoid most states in the Midwest.

But I have a hunch that coastal states' cops can be just as bad.

This is where most pot heads get confused.......

You were rooting for the coke dealer in that situation? I 100% bet that dude killed somebody with his drugs. Then he spits in the cops face with driving the car around..... What a hero........

What happened to morals?

OMG, judge much?? So you clearly have issues with pot heads, and drug dealers. Explain this to me, what does morals have to do with anything? What ever happened to personal responsibility/accountability? I look at hard drugs, how I look at abortion; if you don't approve of them, don't use them.

peace out

Between the red baiting, speaking down to cannabis users and pulling for the cops, it was obvious some thing had happened with the morals.

Better question is how many are clean? Or how many stop a fellow officer when he is doing wrong?
