Who else saw the video of the woman with a guitar singing about her plants to the judge? Wasn't easily able to find it again.

I'm kind of interested in what's going to come out of Columbia, Canopy Growth is there too so I imagine they'll have some pretty good weed commercially grown.

Chemical trash seems to be the accepted (fundable) model. Just like subsidized ag. Cant get a contract without accepting the terms of investors and they all demand chems and pesticides instead of healthy clean plants.

I was serious tho...anyone know what good standing means? or has anyone tried to navigate the process yet?
it means you have paid your taxes (cuz, i don't know, i think all kids should have a free education for instance--call me crazy) and you aren't in criminal trouble and you've at least applied for your license and are paying your licensing fees (they're like the bribes we had to pay in the old days, but cheaper and more reliable).

good god! it's exactly the fucking opposite. sign my ass up to pay money to keep myself and my money out of jail. sign my ass up for a system that MAKES growers not use pesticides and herbicides, that MAKES them pay some attention to being environmentally responsible.

if a grower doesn't want to fork over less than 1% of their revenue to be legal, than they can have fun in a regular job.

good god! it's exactly the fucking opposite. i don't need an investor to grow weed. i don't need to be part of a huge investment project. i get to keep doing what i'm doing--FREELY AND WITHOUT THREAT OF RUINING MY LIFE. sign my ass up to pay money to keep myself and my income out of jail. sign my ass up for a system that MAKES growers not use pesticides and herbicides, that MAKES them pay some attention to being environmentally responsible.

if a grower doesn't want to fork over less than half a percent of their revenue to be legal, than they can have fun in a regular job.

Drewsif sounds like they know what they are talking about and post 291 describes an unfavourable situation for me and the general public. Someone, as in you the corporate ag company sales person, would like to think of it as some sort of debate. No the legal part is flipped real estate is a sham who thinks you are going to print money from stolen borrowed time on other people's sweat?

Infused with a chemical, absolutely cancer laden scheme agenda. Petrochemical company pharmaceutical and gun powder chemical plant manufacturer weapons company it is all linked the same exact thing. Flint Michigan has poisoned water all factual information current events present time real world. The oil company that makes fast food and cigarettes and doctors reading the same scam play book and teach children propaganda that it has a use

No parts of that get that out nowhere is it allowed

for example one company wants to inject human beings and (someone makes) a campaign against anti-vax people as a group

when you sit back and think about it the whole scene looks absurd from some distance. why would i believe either one of you two arguing about whether or not to inject me with some contrived virus protein particle and aluminum hydroxide? i don't mean to sound callus but to spice it up with some context this would be two or three shriveled bald old crusty looking drug addicted "doctors" attempting to convince me a healthy capable human for intents and purposes that a chemical injection has some kind of benefit for my (anyone's) children etc.

there's such a thing as believing you stand for one side. in this particular instance i don't have a side in the circus. fighting over who to inject, and what fast food is profitable, that is not something i want to be part of

which means i'm part of the solution

Nice post 'calaveras'. It seems the majority of our industry is of the kind you explain. Even the most professional trimmer's I know are 35-40 years old, make 40k+ a year in cash (in 3-4 months), and have nothing to show for it. They make there money and go to Thailand for a month or two. Lots of grower's are the same way. Not saying that lifestyle is the wrong way, just a common theme I see with these hippy's. I don't get the not wearing deodorant part either, it's not that bad for you. Personally, I will enjoy those exotic vacations later in my life when I've got a house paid off and $ in my savings.

Ok great, sure a lot of folks in some states would love to know how you buy a house and stock up the checking account with cash from underground sales. In this hypothetical situation, i would hide/stash/'process' cash personally until better options arise, but you seem to be disingenuous in your presentation of all the considerations that can lead to being loose with how ppl spend. We all know some ppl that have a sort of 'easy come easy go' attitude about money that irritates us as ppl who grew up poor and struggling. Not trying to be a douche, just asking you to consider there are many reasons ppl can be 'careless' with large sums of money, it's not a character trait particular to cultivators (like we need more judgment/prejudice/stereotypes in this type of life lol.

Edit: Also, known a lot of crusty train trimmer traveler types, saying those ppl have 'nothing to show' for years of traveling experiences says more about you than them. /unsolicited two cents

I bet man, keep us updated. Snoop bitch has invaded MI with his canadian company "Tweed" and are doing the same shit to commerical and even small personal home growers.

It's too bad he never had a music or art career, where he could have potentially 24/7 boasted about and glorified being a thieving violent misogynist gangster or started a super gross hardcore porn business. In that scenario we could have realized that many rappers don't deserve our respect as spokespeople for cannabis or members of a healthy cannabis community...

Not a dig at you OP. You just spreading the word. I feel like I should look at some of these celebrity brands now just to see how they are.

So calaveras grown 2.0 seems to be happening. The supervisors are scrambling to fund the program because 1 or 2 of them are not happy with the return of legal grows. It should be self sustaining once in operation with 12k fees to register and 2k annual renewal fees.
I saw a interesting roadside sign this morning . It has leases available for 3 grows on one site. This may be the future for many farmers, leasing land from previously registered grow sites. It promises to be a interesting year with the return of the legal farms. We all hope for a smoother implementation this time. I wonder if the true future of california weed is going back underground. The state legislatures latest brilliant idea is taxing marijuana based on strength. The shortfall of projected income for the state has the idiots wanting to tax more . Nothing like adding 50% to the price to make guerrilla farming worth the risk.
The local sheriff has purchased a new S.W.A.T. tank worth around $300,000 +. I guess the sheriff is not hurting for money. Busts have slowed in the off season, just a occasional asian grow house every month or so. Lots of land and houses for sale but not much is selling unless priced low.
The couple of grow/garden stores that hung in there during the shutdown could be in good shape next year. Most of the new garden supply shops have closed since the ban.
P.S. Go Calaveras guerilla grown ......or go fishing!

Calaveras county is advertising a new job opening for marijuana czar. $ 100,000 a year pay. Not bad pay for the pot business. I wonder if this includes personal quality control sampling.

Ive been hearing lots of licenses getting bought up. Ive talked to two people who have around 10 licenses with plans to buy more.

Rates ive been hearing to buy a license
1) $100k
2) $50k with 1% share of business on 4 licenses
3) 15% share of profits on the one license for renting license for set # of years.

privacy act

privacy act

Calveras is the county that was supposed to set the bar for cultivation. I have many friends there and they are tripping big time!

They said on the application it would reveal the names and plot sizes to the public, but thats it...

They went far beyond that and WILL have blood on their hands from this...
looks like violation of the privacy act this could constitute far reaching implications that would require discovery in the court should a suite be filed in court, peace mike tea.
