Ponytail palm tree question

Two of My ponytail palm got decapitated

Can I use the leaves as some sort of extract/fertilizer or can I plant the stalks?

Yeah, place in water to root again....that's what is great! More oxygen vs. smattering for a plant tea.....unless you have abundance, root em!
