My mix of coco + amendments. (60 liter batch)

picture.php

After 4 weeks sitting in the dark I added...

  • 60 liter of old potting soil
  • 60 liter of fresh compost
  • 15 liter of special soil (high microbial life)
  • 10 liter of cork granulate
  • 10 liter of clay pebbles
  • 10 liter of rice hulls
  • 2 liters of worm castings
  • 4 liters of azomite
  • 1 liter of bat guano
  • 1/2 liter of seabird guano
  • 1/2 liter of vinegar

Result: about 230 liter of super soil at ph 6.5 - 7

I will let it sit for another 2 weeks before I do final ph adjustments.

The Cheesy Rider is starting to fade naturally, about 2 weeks before harvest.

Faded
The leaves on this one turned almost black. I let this one go about two weeks longer than usual. I'm really happy with the result. Tomorrow is her last day.

Beautiful colors and mad photo skills.

Thx for the compliment. It's a bummer though that the image quality here on IC is so crappy. The size limitations and the resampling on the server really kills colors and sharpness :(

We've got some new genetics. I just got some very promising RolexOG cuts. 2 different phenotypes. One of them seems to have more vigor and both smell extremely dank in veg. Strongest smell in my veg rooms. I'll post some pics when they're rooted.
The moms were grown from seed about 2 months ago so they should form roots very easily.

It's getting really crowded in my veg, seedling and mom rooms.

There are tons of new genetics as seeds in my fridge. Going nuts here.

Bruce Banner (Dark Horse) and Cinderella 99 (Brothers Grimm) are waiting to be popped but there's no room for 22 new plants, ugh.
And then there are so many other genetics that want to be tested.

I popped 3 freebies from BC Bud Depot about a month ago. None of them even showed a root. I'm happy I didn't pay for them. Please don't buy from BC, save your money for some good gear.

Rolex OG phenotype #2 are showing roots. One of them is going crazy and has 5cm roots. Just as I expected these cuts are fast rooters.

Sadly my Kali Mist phenotype #1 lost some of its vigor (3rd year). I'll have to take better care of her since I don't want to loose her. I just took a cut that looks very promising. Hopefully it will make a new mom. She's still an amazing yielder and the taste speaks for itself. She just doesn't like to root as easy as she used to (she was never the best rooter).

My Cheesy Rider phenotype #2 however still roots as good as ever. I have her in my veg room waiting for the currently flowering plants to finish.

I've started training my girls even more. I tie them down a lot more to keep them at a height of about 10cm. I've had great success with that technique in my current flowering run. I'll post some pictures of my flowering room tomorrow.

My G13 Haze went into flower 3 weeks earlier and had the entire room for herself. I wanted to give her some extra time to let her go for about 12 weeks. Sadly she never stretched (maybe 10 cm in flower) so she has been overgrown by her competitors: Skunk No.1, Chemist #1, Chemist #2 (Chemist is a Cheesy Rider x Kali Mist, https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=360374). Maybe she had too much light and therefore never stretched. I love her taste and effect when smoked but I might kill the mom to make room for new genetics since my rooms are getting too crowded.

Most of my space is now used to keep genetics alive and only a small space is used for flowering. Since I stopped consuming 3 weeks ago I don't really need any product. I'm just flowering to test genetics now and really trying to focus on selection and breeding. Since I don't sell any of my product, some of my friends are very happy to get some dank weed for free. I wish I had a friend like me in times where I couldn't grow :comfort:

My Skunk is strong as usual. One of the best plants in my cultivar. (in the back is my G13 Haze which I mentioned. (almost no stretch so she's not really getting any light back there. Her mom might go in the compost pretty soon)

Vegetation:

I train these a lot, keeping them really low. Tons of companions and cover crop. I usually cut the cover crop a week before they go into flower or if it grows too high. I use the cut cover crop and companions as mulch to feed the worms and other critters in the soil.
