Country music superstar Willie Nelson was arrested Friday, accused of having about 6 ounces of marijuana on his tour bus when it was stopped at the Border Patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, 85 miles east of El Paso. He posted bond and was released shortly after.

Nelson, 77, was traveling from California to Austin, where he owns a ranch.

Nelson's publicist could not be reached for comment, but no changes were made to Nelson's tour schedule. His next performance was scheduled for 8 p.m. today at the WinStar casino in Thackerville.

Nelson was stopped at the checkpoint about 9 a.m. Border Patrol agents searched the bus and found the marijuana, which Nelson claimed was his, Hudspeth County Sheriff Arvin West said.

Nelson was taken into custody and booked into the Hudspeth County jail. West said Nelson posted a $2,500 bond and was on the road again by 1:30 p.m. Friday.

“He could get 180 days in county jail, which if he does, I'm going to make him cook and clean,” West said. “He can wear the stripy uniforms just like the other ones do.”

I didn't know CA to Austin TX took you out of the fucking country and allowed the FEDERAL FUCK PIGS to raid your shit with out a warrant.

Fucking un-American. Arrest a national icon, sacrilege. I bet the pig had his picture with him. I hope he gets publicist on board an takes a stand, but he will prob get time if he does. If he was crossing an int'l border with it then he should know better. Another point for the great state of Texas.

Willie took the hit for everyone else on the bus. There is no doubt in my mind he was respectful, cooperative, kind, soft spoken and had a sense of humor about the situation. He was showing the cops unfamiliar with weed it doesn't make you crazy. We are free to do as we please as long as we accept the consequences. If you read I Ching, you know Willy will embrace the consequences like the Superior Man that he is.

Lets do it! I bet we would make the National news.....lol...I think Willie would like it....lol..I know i would.....Thats fucking unity right there.....BROTHER!

....and when the piggies come....have 1 ounce baggies rolled up like grenades, and pelt them fuckers....(say this last line in your best Hunter thompson voice, for a better visual)

OK I gave my pee brain a minute to think about this.

How about a new homeless program.

the plan is to give marijuana to a homeless person and a bus ticket to Texas!
-They would get room and board over the winter, and three meals, and even fresh cloths.-

Sierra Blanca, Texas has busy border patrol checkpoint

Sierra Blanca is the county seat of Hudspeth County, located in far West Texas.
For a tiny little town of 535 people, Sierra Blanca has a very busy courthouse.
The reason for all this courtroom activity is the proximity of the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on Interstate 10 a few miles to the west.

The Sierra Blanca Border Patrol checkpoint is considered a "functional equivalent of the border", which allows Border Patrol and U.S. Customs agents to conduct searches of all vehicles going east or west along Interstate 10.

All I-10 traffic is routed through the checkpoint area where drivers are routinely asked the same sort of preliminary questions directed to anyone crossing the border into the United States.
If the questioning agent becomes suspicious, the offending automobile is directed to pull over into another area and a search of the vehicle is conducted.
Sometimes drug dogs are used to assist the agents.

When drugs are found, most cases are referred to the state for prosecution.
The larger quantities become the responsibility of the feds, and are turned over to the DEA for presentation to the United States Attorney in Alpine, Texas.

The smaller cases go to the little courthouse in Sierra Blanca.

it's E-Z, just pull into that mandatory inspection station 85 miles East of El Paso with your nugs and they'll take care of yah...be sure and give them some probable cause, odor's always good. ;) :D
The big problem there is that guy with the big nose that works there, Rin Tin Tin the Shepard dog, digs the ye olde tasty nuggeys big time too... he's greedy though and wants to take them all, the little prick. :D

The 2,500 bail sounds suspiciously about right for covering the fine for possession of "M" in "T" amazingly enough. :)
