afterthought autos - Numbskull Auto Test grow

Afterthought Autos was so kind and generous to send me 2 different Auto regular seed strains for a TEST grow for future possible strains: Numbskull(++CBD), Tranquil(hemp high cbd). Since they are auto regulars I'm going to run 3 staggered over 30 days, hoping for a 2 Fem-1 MALE 3-some. I like ability to capture pollen for expanding strain and trying crosses.

This is Numbskull Auto(2)
Genetic lineage: High CBD Afghan/Kush/Critical Auto regular
Indoor: Approximately 80 days (start to finish). Short and bushy
Outdoor: Similar
Height:Indoor: Short

10/30/20 Germinated and will be grown in:
Organic soil, reused and baked Stonington blend base
Added:
Worm castings
Stonington blend fertilizer
Fish bone meal
Lobster compost
5 gallon bucket
Start under CFL and over to LED HLG 550 to run 18/6 on/off schedule

DAY ONE: 10/31/20 popped up from soil. Seems to be living up to name with a hard head that didn't want to fall off. 1 looks OK, but slow. Other looks stunted/done, so dropped another seed to soak on 11/2. Hard head responded well, so I'm set with my sample 3-some.

Due to constraints I had to start in small Burpee cups 2 days short of 3 weeks post germ & they were transferred from the starter cups into their 5 gallon final destination using the soil mix initially noted. Now under an HLG 550 with PAR dialed down to 500.
Running temps in mid 70's during 18/6, dropping to low 60's when lights off.

BTW, I'm 9 for 9 with seed germination rate for afterthought autos. Strong genetics

Sorry you are having a bit of a temporary roadblock. Been on here for years and did not know about posting pics until certain qualifying conditions were met.

4 weeks post germ

4 weeks post germ

4 weeks old today and looks like 2 for 2 females from good ole Numbskull. 1 looks a few days ahead, per hairs, though structure looks identically short, sturdy and hardy. Looking good and expect plenty of growth ahead.

35 days

5 weeks and nothing but smooth sailing. Very easy grow with 1 girl 14” and her sister 10”. Nice color, sturdiness and compact structure. White hairs just starting out. Keeping humidity around 55-60 & temps mid-upper 70’s during 18 hrs lights on, dropping to low 60’s off. To finish this run, I germed 2 more seeds on 11/26 & 12/1, starting in 4 gallon buckets. Hope to get a male, collect some pollen, and paint a few future buds sites. :yay:

49 days and looking pretty

49 days post germ today and these sisters be fine.
#1 now xs 26” and has great structure to allow in as much light as possible. Internode gaps a bit spaced out, but I like my buds golf ball size.
#2 a bit more squat @16” with closer internode space.
Started next round with those germed 11/26 & 12/1.
Hope to get a male to collect some pollen and painted some lower buds to get a few dozen seeds of Numbskull to continue the line.

56 days of Numbskulls

56 days of Numbskulls

This Numbskull grow cannot be any easier and is developing two separately distinct plants. One is now about 2 1/2 feet and stretched out very nicely with nice size buds coming together all over. Her sister is a little shorter and stockier, producing and growing at the same pace. They seem to like the soil mixture as I haven’t added anything but water. PAR is right about 900 to 1000 for the tops, while staying above 750 for the lower.
Started two more almost 30 days ago, and both seem to be showing sex of females. Looking forward to 2021 results.

The girls, now a true foresome, are growing great without much help, nor hurt, in my part. Simply watering 2x/week under 18/6.
4 for 4 with female seeds with 2nd rnd birth dates of 11/26 & 12/1 showing their sexy female side.
Looking at an approximate 80 day life, the 2 leading ladies look right on schedule.

Working on our new catalog, entering NUMBSKULL and the tasty CBD auto hemp TRANQUIL to the format, along with several others. Brings us up to 37 autos, 18 photoperiods and 13 CBD Hemp hybrids. Always a work in progress.

Figured it’s time for some close ups.
I really like the plant structure of the taller #1. Great spread for optimal light to bud.
Not throwing shade at #2 girl, just like our kids, they’re all special... Look at her main bud and sides too. Girth and still plenty of time to keep fattening up. She’s a fatty.

Txs and I agree with being impressed with it’s/their growth in 9 weeks. Giving her buds a nice squeeze, I can tell ya the buds are very dense with an aroma of vanilla/floral. Really looking forward to the final weeks and the smoke report with Numbskull a reported 1:1 ratio

Simply gorgeous!!

We just preened our NUMBSKULL for seeds, giving away the 4 other stout female (Rubenesque)plants, sans seeds, for those in need of medicine. Will share their critique when dried and tried.

I find it a very mellow, not quite sedating strain, ability to concentrate without the mind rumination (hence NUMB-SKULL!). That's a positive. Decrease pain is another positive.

And yes, an event scheduled soon.

I’m honored to test these AfterthoughtAutos ladies. I’ll spend more time typing this update then I needed to spend on these girls. They are so easy to grow and seem to really like the organic soil mixture. Just look at the leaves stretching for the lights with just the slightest bit of burn on the end of the tip of the leaf. To me that says just the right amount of organic nutrients. As a reminder, AfterthoughtAutos describes:
Numbskull Genetic lineage: High CBD Afghan/Kush/Critical Auto regular seeds
Indoor: Approximately 80 days (start to finish). Short and bushy
Outdoor: Similar
Height:Indoor: Short

#1 Lady is 30” tall & 24” wide; main cola is 3”x2”, other tops uniformly 2”x2” walnut size; 16 branches + top cola.
#2 Lady more fits the AfterthoughtAuto’s description of short and bushy. She’s 18” x 18” with the main cola being 4”x2”; other tops are 2”x2” walnuts; 12 separate branches + main cola.

Uniform tropical/floral aroma, solid bud structure enjoying the dry winter months. :jump:

Tricomes are uniformly milky for #1 with #2 just a little behind. The two ladies are so healthy, so I’m going to let them go until a good 10 to 20% Amber is seen. :smokey:

The next round is also doing great, as seen.
All I’m doing is watering 2x/week in recycled organic mix shown in 1st post. Girl #2 did start showing some spider mite spots, confirmed by eye. Used organic mite spray, mostly essential oils, which has worked.
