Day 35from seed

Day 35from seed

Got the saucers for the pots today, worked out well, they fit perfectly, and were much cheaper than the tray option.
Finally those poor roots can come out a bit more safely now.

Think i found my first female too, so im well chuffed tonight.
looked under a microscope thingy, and seen the lil white pistils forming. finger crossed no ladyboys.lol

they got a bit of water today. Added 2ml of A+B to 6litres of water, so not really a proper feed, just a taste .
Theyll get a proper dosing once i get a ec pen of a friend this weekend hopefully.

Heres apic..

Sometimes i find it hard to believe how quick these herbs grow man. First few weeks felt slow, now it feels like exponential growth. To think they were in shells 30+days ago, seems impossible, lol.

lights just went out, heres how they look in the dark

thanks for looking.
Stay safe

i wish my first grow would go like urs...first time i made a mistake and used ph- but it was not for soil growing but for hydro...and the girls were fucked up...so congrats for ur first..peace

thanks man, im hoping i can keep them going ok.
Sorry to hear about the Ph issue that happened.
We live and learn. Ive learned from my waterboarding the lil ones.
Now i make sure to check their weight by hand, and determine what they need. Thanks for the congrats man. Ill try and do em proud!

I have run seedlings SSH. They do strech but yeild is not bad. Almost like SOG. I was toying with the idea of useing 2x2 rockwool in 5gln hydroton pots I think you could get about 6-8 plants per pot. I do have 12 single plants running now but they had 3-4 weeks of veg. They are 4ft tall.

thanks for the info. Im hoping to trip em very soon, its getting too cramped in there. Once i got some phenos i want to keep, then im planning to experiment a bit with training. would be good to see ures in action too bro, any pics u can show.
Thanks again.

hey sticky i just bought some plant magic magne cal plus heard its good stuff...Peace dank
Never seen that before, will check it out online.
Would there be anything in a health food shop that i can use to give them extra cal mag?

nice pics and nice close upps
thank you my friend. Ill try get some better closeups in the next week or so. Hoping they all start showing sex soon.

Keep up the good work my man!

One question, what does chuffed mean?

Hi Socialist, thanks for the kind words, Chuffed is a slang version of saying im happy, or well proud of myself..lol

they getting tripped today(38th day since seeds germinated), cant wait any longer, not enough space for them to grow fat i think, they only have space to go up now. Dont want them too tall, so decided to trip em today.
Cutts will be taken over this week, all being safe and well.

Lookin great man! :tiphat:

I know the bending is scary when you do it. I experimented on one of mine with it. Cut him down yesterday for having grapes (though he was a good boy, mama had to kill him, sorry). Anyway check out the stem with all the side branches cut off. When I did that bend it actually split the stem, there was a big hole in it. Didn't slow him down one bit apparently.

It definitely worked. This is exactly what I do and works very well. One of the easiest ways to train. Some growers will take a pair of needle nose pliers and put air hose on each side of the needles to achieve the same effect. I've done this as well but have also caused damage in the process because you don't get the same feel as you do with your fingers.

thanks for the input people.

DreamsofTesla, thank you for your input.
Dam, thats one lovely stem.amazing how strong these plants are.
Any chance of giving some hints and tips for training.Any links appreciated thanks.

socialist, hope u well .Thanks for the info, much appreciated.
lol, i bent them both down the next day again, and within about 12 hours, they had gone back up again, lol
these ladies arent for taming, lol, guess im too much of a softy!
Interesting stuff about the needles. Im with you, i think our fingers are enough to get the job done, i mean, in nature, the plant would prolly take some abuse from pests, and animals breaking branches etc, so its more natural to do it this way, im guessing..lol

Could do with a touch of help tho people please,
When i take cuts, can i just use the tops of each plant, helping to limit height?
I read somewhere that its better to take em from the bottom, where more nitrogen or something is available?
Does this apply for seeds aswell?would the seeds 'vigorous growth' allow them time to recover from the topping, whilst in first week of flower? It would be good if i could just use the tops of the lanky girls as cutts.

Thank you for the input people, i really appreciate it.
Hoping the next few weeks brings me my first pistils showing in flower, im well chuffed, socialist, lol ;-):dance013:

Tent upgrades

Tent upgrades

Just to let people know, i put 2 training mats under the tent, and all oscillating fans noises and vibrations have been muted drastically. the 2matts raise the tent by about 3 cm.
Cost about £20

Also added a camping bed underlay to the floor, so temps wont get too cold. Cut it in half, and it covered my 1mx1m area.
Cost £6

Thru the night, i managed to keep my temps nicely above 18degreesC in the tent with a 40W tubular heater on thru the nights. Cost £10

Glad its worked, i was having to use a 1000W heater b4, constantly turning on and off, just to maintain a temp.
Now its all good!

Only the carbon filter is making noise now, so ive bought a voltage fan speed controller. Just waiting for it to arrive, then im planning to turn down the cf fan slightly down. Still having negative pressure, but not so much, as the pressure seems to be reducing space in the tent itself..these bud boxes should really have side bars to prevent such caving in of the sides. I might make something to help ;-)
cost £50

Total cost £85-90.
lol, my 1000w heater cost me £40, so its getting returned asap..lol

T

that smell

as far as the training goes, get some bread ties and after you pinch and bend the plant loosely wrap the tie around the limb-past the bend- and secure the other end of tie to pot. this helps keep it from rising up so quick and allows other budsites to stretch to light. You can effectively shape your plant this way. works every time. you may have to connect several bread ties together. Check out some "lst" (low stress training) threads.Peace

Take your clones from where ever you want. There are people who say not to take from the bottom because these are usually the weakest branches. I always take from the bottom because I'm just going to cut off anything they may produce popcorn anyways. Also known as "lolipopping".

Javadog

I have read that the lower branches root faster too.

I took too many clones to verify myself.

Good luck,

JD
