First Grow Ever - 4x4 - 315W 4200K GREENBEAMS CMH - 1x Alien 1x 818 - RDWC

Thanks for looking! This is my first ever grow and I am posting here for others to follow along and hopefully witness some success.

I have been lurking on this forum for a while and have gathered lots of useful info. I got my tent and environment setup and sourced these 2 clones locally.

Okay here is the setup:

-1x Greenbeams 315W CMH Reflector w/ Remote Ballast and Phillips 942 4200K Bulb (intend to use for veg AND flowering)

-Current Water Temp 66 Deg F (was getting over 74+ F before adding ice packs)
-Current Humidity with humidifier running directly to intake is 45-55%.

-Clean PH 6.0 tap water
-1/3 of recommend dose of micro, grow and rapid root nutrients.

I received both of the clones and it looks like the grower had clipped off some of the leaf tips (probably hiding some deficiency/issue I guess). They were only $7 each so I figure as long as they grow I am happy, but was a little disappointed with the state they were in.

I picked them up and saturday and got them transplated into my home-made RDWC (credit to blazeoneup tutorial) system in my 4x4 tent - they went straight under the 4200K phillips CMH bulb in my Greenbeams reflector. There were some issues with the clones when I got them (not totally happy) and I have described more below. I have been giving them foliar mists a couple times a day with clean PH'd tap water with a few drops of GH Rapid Root starter.

They seem to be in much better condition today (which I am calling Day 2), but I noticed the some of the small white spots that were on the leaves when I got them are still somewhat apparent (they were also a little droopy when I got them). I have not tried wiping the leaves because they are so small and fragile. The 818 plant appears to be less happy than the Alien, and I have tried to capture some of the spots in my pics (sorry I had just misted them before I took the pics). Does anyone have any input on this? I am wondering if I should just leave them AS-IS and see how they are doing in a couple days - or if I need to start some kind of treatment (try to wipe them) now. I am hoping it is not mildew - and have good ventilation in my tent.

Just wrapping up the second full day and still loaded with excitement - been wanting to grow for a long time and finally have the chance to do it legally (CO)!

I appreciate and welcome any comments or feedback! New to growing and definitely don't approach this with a know-it-all attitude, though I've done lots of research. Always willing to learn; even if it means failing a little here and there

Hey growforme! I like the the whole set up. It's similar to mine, but at a smaller scale. When you get a chance, stop by the link in my signature.

My thought is maybe powdery mildew? I'm not real up on it, but maybe they came in that way from wherever you got them? Take a look around as i believe there are fixes for PM. Good luck and keep posting. I want to see how your grow goes!

Thanks timmur! Your grow looks awesome - you are actually one of the ones who inspired me to get this light Appreciate the insight - the clones definitely had the white spots when I got them and I think I am going to leave them alone until they are a little bigger, unless it gets worse and I need to take action. Hoping its not powdery mildew but kinda what it looks like to me...

Not much of a grow so far, lol (I mean mine)! Hopefully by the last week in Feb.

Meanwhile I can watch yours for some instant gratification! I'm glad you were inspired. I'm a huge fan of Greenbeams and was inspired by beta Test Team. Too bad they aren't around anymore. They were a wealth of knowledge.

I'm very curious about how they gonna perform under the 315w lighting.
