Sexist screen names

Hello All!

I've noticed a new user from OG who has an offensive (in my opinion) sexist screen name. His avatar would normally not offend me, I don't mind mostlynaked sexy women - they're beautiful to look at - but paired with the screen name it's offensive to me.

It reminded me of an avatar this guy used to have (maybe still does) over on cannabis culture - it was an animated gif of a stick figure male fucking a female doggystyle until her head broke through the wall, then he jacks off on her face. Some freak took a bunch of time to make it too. I couldn't help but notice that the "artist" made the dick as long as the arm ... wishful thinking I guess. I just left the board instead of complaining. Marc didn't seem like the kind of guy who would respond compassionately to that kind of complaint. There were other places, like here, where the posters seemed more mature.

How do you feel about these things? Do you say anything? Do you think it's fair or right to complain to the mods about it, or is it better to ignore it? Is it best to just leave the board? Do you say why you left or not? Do these things bother you too or should I call my therapist? :)

I'm thinking that, while this is clearly not a place for children, that people should have basic respect for each other. No one would be permitted to have an avatar that demeaned black people, or Swiss people, or blind people. Why should we tolerate an avatar that's degrading to our gender?

On the other hand, it's awfully difficult at times to agree on what's demeaning and who's being hypersensitive. In light of the current Islamic freak out it's an interesting question to ponder.

Any thoughts?

I say let them advertise to the world that they're an idiot. Makes it easier to avoid them when ya know what's up from the get go.

:wave: Goddess.... I understand where you are coming from on this issue quite well... I am remined of the wigger thread, if that was offensive or not... Well truth be told its not offensice to me but it is offensive to a minority, so to me it matters... I seen somewhere else where someone was refering to women as ho's, am I offended by this?.... yes.... you see half nude women on ad's am I offended by that, No... I think each situation is different in it's own and we just can't have a general statement no tolerence because as you said, this is an over 18 website and some things are just going to be offensive to some... However, If you feel very strongly about it you are a member of a website, you do have the right to contact admin or a mod to report this, because maybe you are not the only one that feels this way.... It is then up to Admin or Mods to determine where that line is in each situation and if it warrants any action at all.... I believe everyone absolutly has right to voice their opinion as long as it doesn't violate other people's rights.... just my:2cents:

so no thing on me to tolerate it. sometimes it worries me a lil.

i dissolve in pity, thinking of some guys callin girls sluts on internet, while dying of lonelyness. we are all looking for love. it's hard for those who can't get.


PLUS they are covered by the animity of internet. some of those won't even be able to look straight into ur eyes in rl.

or has anyone already met a guy in the metro asking u directly what u wear beneath? lol

You have to be 18 to watch an R rated movie, and many times you see things you don't like in that movie. You have to be 18 to be here. There's a reason for that.Words, images, drawings, they're all part of life. Each person has a different reaction to each scenario. The only ones who would write letters and complain to the movie director are very conservative people who want censorship, and end up with nothing other than stress and hate. Many of us live in a country we are proud of for being "Land of the Free."
Please, smoke a bowl, and let people be. If you don't like it, like guy said above, judge the person for their avatar/signature, and pity the fool.
If you are that repulsed, go to the ignore function,and ignore them, or hide-avatar function on the site.

Just my opinion.

Rude and crude (disrespectful) people generally don't last long around here, I've observed. They also get negative rep points right quick.
I see a couple of the young newbs just got some clothes on their "gals" after they were called on it by offended members.

I have not seen any sexist or otherwise ofensive user names, but understand exactly how you feel. and thats exactly why I also started a thread on rude and offensive avatars.- It says something about the poster if they are willing to show and call themselves such names.

We are members here and if something really bothers us then we can voice our opinion.

Its very true though, rude and offensive people really do not last long here. As I noticed that the few people who had really offensive avatars have dissapeared. So its not just me that is being offended.

Cowabudza it's not conservative to stand up for women, though I do admire that American conservatives are working against child prostitution tourism and the sex slave trade. Good for them for doing something that will actually help someone for once.

I think it's quite the opposite - Liberal people are usually concerned with people's rights. They are the ones who fought for the ERA while conservatives argued against it. They are the ones who fought for abortion rights. They are the ones that fought for our right to vote (which happened only 86 years ago, btw).

Also coming to this board is quite different than seeing an "R" rated movie. An "R" rated movie, by definition contains sex and/or violence. You know exactly what you're signing up for.

I assume, as most visitors do I think, that the reason it's 18 and over to sign up to post here is because we are dealing with a plant that is better kept out of the hands of those who are too young.

I actually can't think of the last time a movie offended me. Oh wait, now I remember. About 17 years ago I saw "Pink Flamingos" which features Divine eating shit out of a dog's ass. It's the only film I ever had the desire to burn - I have never seen anything so disgusting before or since. Of course that opinion would make John Waters grin his head off because that was his intention. And I can accept that offense is, at times, an art form.

The "Land of the Free" does not allow child pornography or rape-themed magazines. You can't scream "fire" in a crowded theater. There are limits even in the USA. Are there any limits here on this board and what are they? If someone wants to put up a Klan or Nazi avatar is that also going to go without comment from members who share your opinion?

i think the 'guys callin girls sluts on the internet' are probably of the lucky breed that need nothing more than sex. and since plain sex isnt that hard to come by im sure theyre perfectly happy. as long as the bubble doesnt burst, theyre all winners.

there are legions of girls ready to degrade themselves so that some guy can feel real macho. take most pornstars. arrogance astounds me how they can beat their (lets face it not always particularly large) dicks against some young girl's face, have their fun and then gizz on said face leaving the girl still eager to please but unfulfilled and probably feeling alittle dirty when shes alone that night.

get no closer to being any closer or even sharing any love, and through this attitude being spread by media its fast becoming (already has) a disease that is further seperating human souls.

telling people who carry this disease that if they don't stop advertising it (e.g. usernames and avatars) theyll get shunned from a community doesnt change who they are, it just changes (or maybe not..) the way they present themselves.

i like your attitude though. kind of eastern way of thinking.. from the inside out. like someone who youve come to hate can still be a decent person or even a good friend if you learn to understand the way they think and causes for the way they act.

sometimes i guess even those claim to only wanna **** girls... feeling lonely. it's more easy to say: well, i just use girls. i don't need no one to mind bout me... than to say: damn, i cannot handle deep relationships.

yes there are legions of girls willing to. not only in the porn/media industry. u'll find them everywhere. but i guess it's a question of education/knowledge/luck to know, what kind of degradings u can or cannot accept for some reason.

guess it's okay to handle sexuality open and free, when u are willing to. but u should be able to decide. guess, some women ain't.

It's annoying at times that the green stuff, cannabis etc, is linked with "adult" content...ie blokes perving women, or more like blokes feeling so threatened by us that they have to try to excert some sort of power over us in one way or another.
I would stand up for womens rights as long as I breath but the best ammo you give small minded, juvenile people, with shite avatars and little of any interest to say, is to get yr knickers in a twist...gives them another kick, I reckon.
Like with small children, the best thing is to egnore bad behavior.
