decarbing rosin (oil NOT chips)

anyone cooking with rosin oil? In gonna turn 2.5 gs into about 80 15-20 mg capsules. Assuming the rosin (emerald cup OG Kush) is at least 50% thc ( prolly more) I should be in the ballpark. My question is for decarbing....do I still follow normal protocol ( 30 min at 240)? or is it already partially or fully decarbed? dont know how rosin creation works enough. its almost shatter, pill and snap for sure, which leads me to believe not fully decarbed at all.....

I came here to ask the same question.. logically, how would one contain a portion of rosin to heat it to 250*F for 30 minutes? a glass dish/bowl w cover and in the oven for half hour? I'll get back to ya'll in a few days with results.. guessing I'd have to attempt this a few time to realize the possible difference in stoneabilty.

I toss it in my oven . 260 degrees.. checking my oil temps with temp gun.. it reaches 250.. I let it for for 25 minutes once it reaches 250degrees.. and then I pull it out.. and let it cool and then u can either cap it up. make it into edibles.. lollipops. tootsie rolls.. so on and so forth..

I bake at 240* for 45 minutes. I let the oven temp stabilize for half hour first. I bake kief like this to eat also.

For rosin, I weigh into a small jar 50/50 grams of rosin and olive oil. I mix a little in the middle.. It's incredibly STRONG and you should probably start with a grain of rice size before bed.

Skunkpharm has a guide (kind of) to visually estimating where the decarbing process is at. I do mine in a closed clear glass jar at about 250 and try to keep an eye on it for when the bubbling seems to peak. Should work with rosin the same as any other oil. If you do it right you should be able to kind of aim at the type of buzz you're after.

:biggrin:put a buncha stoners together and amazing things start happening.
I have a rosin thread open and discussing the same issues.. demontrich suggested: oven>293F> 8 minutes on parchment paper. this goes along with the mean average seen/suggests anywhere about decarbing. watching it bubble down... <porn!:tiphat: I'm new to this and learning. BTW the decarbing does make a major difference in how high a grain of rice sized piece can get you.. 8 minutes on parchment:eek:ven:293F>> next time, nothing to loose

ok. did 2.5 grams for 25 min at 240 in pyrex covered with aluminum foil. added 1/2 teaspoon of soy lecithin and 2 tablespoons coconut oil and recovered and did five more minutes at 240 followed by 12 or so at 200. strongest oil ive ever made hands down.

I myself would try and see if it's like herbs and low temp for a long time for higher milligrams by volume

I always use rosin for caps and edibles.

I decarb in a small glass beaker on a hot plate. Plate is set at about 250F. The rosin will start to bubble very large bubbles and then fade off to smaller bubbles. After the large bubbles are done and there's nothing but small bubbles, it's done.

Only takes me a few minutes to decarb a couple grams.

Then, I turn the heat down to about 150F and add some lecithin, some myrcene and a tiny bit of coconut oil. Then it goes into caps.

I got the decarb method from one of Gray Wolf's posts.
