I seem to remember the yellowing of leaf when they get on with budding.. i guess/hope it's fairly normal for the type, didn't seem to be any other lacks.

Many years since i had any northern lights x haze growing, but the wife found 150 old seeds i had from 2004 and i couldn't resist germinating them. So keeping the best 6 and see how they go, so far not so bad but i guess time will tell as long way to go yet..

Loving the journal, no doubt i'll learn loads.. thanks xmobotx for sharing

here's a more recent 3 amigos. These NLH are thriving in spite of the yellowing & chunking up nicely along w/ the other NLH:dance013:

The blue velvet is doing remarkably well. having been bred right here, i feel like it will be well naturalized in our specific micro-climate. they definitely endured some harsh heat & cold last season.
this pic highlights the overall habit of the BV :peacock:

i liked this view of the flowers how they are laid out. this pic really demonstrates the open structure

an interesting thing about the 3 amigos little friend; she's a volunteer & is actually older than the many of our plants which are far larger. this is because she started out in the elements exposed & weathered many cool nights & maybe even days where her neighbors were all protected in the building.

so, it's a stunted plant essentially. one that is doing quite nicely ~just a little small-ish

they are dry & locked up. i got pretty busy come time to harvest those. drew a sample & tried the cultivar ~it's pretty good. finally got to sample BV & dramatically got the best of both worlds in the cross. the BV is an awesome plant all around

all our production is from seeds we've made. turns out, we have an occasional seed of unknown origin in some of these. i'm inventorying them & some day will test them but prefer intentional crosses & preservations

here's a cultivar we're calling "stagephoria" a mash-up of my own wide cross "breeder's choice" & swami's wide cross, NL#5xHaze

they're showing some pretty pink pistils w/ the recent cold;
