i have learned sometimes it takes money to make money but also i have saved tons of money by investing in my favorite plant. just wondering how much you have saved just by enjoying our favorite plant?

how much money have you saved by growing your own?

I figure I save about $300/oz for everything I don't have to buy.....and quality is better too. Haven't payed for smoke in two years and hope I never have to again 
Recreational user here, I used to buy 1/4 for 60 bucks.
As a hobby grower, I estimate it cost me 6-8 bucks
for each 1/4 I yield, power, nutes, medium.
If I factor my labor into the equation, then add 3 or 4
hours a week at 20 bucks an hour.
If it was just the money, and I was oblivious to the
grow experience, I would break down the grow and
just buy it from contacts.
I grow my own because I like to know the product I
am consuming, and seldom found the equal to my product
for sale.
I guess you can say I can afford to grow my own, lol
1920.00 for 32 1/4's at 60.00 per 1/4, is purchase price per year.
256.00 for 32 1/4's at 8.00 per 1/4, is grow my own price per year.
3 hours a week at 20.00 per hour is 156 total hours per year, or 3120.00
I'm spending, so to speak, 1456.00 more to grow my own than to
just buy it from known contacts.

So far I've killed nearly all my pricey seeds. Invested in good soil, a greenhouse, nutrients, lights, etc. I've lost a LOT. But I'm remaining hopeful that I'll get much better... I'll keep trying.

Spent 100.00 this year buying commercial weed.
By not buying weed the math for me is obvious.
I do not count hours. Im not at work. I am not missing hours of work to grow.
I don't sell any to offset costs.

Ummm...hard to figure out exactly but it's a no brainer....mucho cash.

always grew more than I could smoke, garden more than paid for itself
and I always had extra for upgrades and seeds. The joy of growing Has
always kept me growing, although now I rarely sell any, rather as I
grow older, gift to my friends who have lost contact with their 'friend.

I wish i could still get 4k+ for a lb. just offed a half lb of indoor fire for 900$

$10. a gram in the stores works out to $14,560 per year.
good thing i never go into those stores....
i spend less than $500. on inputs.
over the last 8 years (8 x 14560 =$116,480) I figure i've saved over $100,000.

Initially quite a bit... and then it went from hobby to passion... then passion to obsession... then obsession to livelihood.
So with buying property, completely changing the direction of my life, paying for government licensing and all that bullshit, the constant equipment and supply needs... I figure I broke even.
