2-3 year light degregation in high end LEDs??

Hey everyone, thinking of swapping out my 600W lumatek and block buster hood for a Quantum board HLG 550 V2. I grow in a 3x3 tent but can dial the 550 down if need be.

Problem is I heard after 2-3 years there’s up to a 50% reduction in light?? Is this true? At $800 a light (on sale) that’s a sh*tty deal.

Any truth to this? What’s the longevity on a light like this??

there are no newer reports on lm80 ratings but i doubt the recent samsung mid power leds are worse now than the generations before them

70% output after nearly 11 years doesn't sound too bad.

An HLG 300 V2 will light up a 3x3 just fine and only uses 285 watts.

I run 2 Viperspectra 450 in a 2 x 4 foot area. I selected that model because it has flower / veg switches. 200 watts each at full power. Priced under $150 each. That would perfect for 3 x 3 tent.

At that price point I don't worry about degradation.

That Quantum board HLG 550 V2 does look nice. That is alot of light.
