when i take clone cuts from plants i cut with at least 2 1/2 -5 inches of stem before leaf node and cut at 45 degree angle cuts and do a second cut and place in tap water for 24 hours...

then place in rockwool or vermiculite or rapid rooters.

if using water it must be aerated with a pump but that can become infected with bacteria if not maintained

...cuttings in a glass of water WILL work but the failure rates are too high.

...do a search for 'Freezerboy' and then scroll down the list of his threads until you find the thread that is a compilation of links to the best examples of several different styles of cloning where i'm sure you'll find a method that fits your style.

...i personally prefer the Walmart cloner which is an elegantly simple passive wick style of cloning that is brain dead simple, cheap as hell and extremely reliable, for me if i get 80% rooted i feel it was a bad run.

...anyway, there are several ways to skin this cat so Freezerboys thread is a good place to start, in fact i'm pretty sure it is a sticky in one of the forums so it should be easy to find.

...shit, let me make this easy, lol.

...i would also recommend that you explore some of his other threads, he hasn't been active for 3 or 4 years so his threads have mostly been lost in the fullness of time which is a shame because he did some impressive work and his writing style was easy to follow and enjoy.

I've rooted plenty of cuttings in plain tap water in a transparent jar in a windowsill. It's not super fast, but it works. I usually change the water every day or two (aeration), and I usually still use a little rooting hormone on the fresh cuts before they go in the water. As long as the ambient temp was between 75f and 82f, they rooted every time.
