Hope to see some more pics soon. Also, have you thought about replacing the mylar with ORCA film? If you haven't seen it, it kills mylar in reflectivity, and it's washable.

Agent Smith, Thanks for the Orca Film links. The next build will utilize it either bonded to the masonite or as a tent material. Working on the Tunnel Tent build.

5 gallon Ebb 'n Dro

5 gallon Ebb 'n Dro

Nothing too exciting other than changing the water delivery to bottom flow. This eliminates the drains and uses rather an equalizer manifold to assure water level in a series of connected buckets.

Shown here is the control bucket with 3 bulkheads. One that connects it to the the other 5 via the equalizer manifold, one that is connected to the pump, and one that is the overflow back to the res. The other pic shows the manifold. This kind of setup I find to be far simpler and more reliable than a system based on float switches, 2 pumps, etc. I can use this control bucket as one of the grow buckets saving plumbing and space. Floor based systems require the control bucket using float switches and a bailing pump simply because they cannot gravity drain to a res tub. The only need I can see to use a floor based system is in the case of a very short ceiling clearance or for growing very tall plants which is not desirable strategy to begin with. 32" tall plant clearance is plenty as long as training and defoliation is used to maximize spread and node count. See my defoliation thread for more on that.

interesting.. I would like to see a "big picture" shot to get a feel for how you're using it exactly.

Also Keef, thanks for the defol thread. I slowly experimented with it for several runs until I finally gave in fully and it has nothing but upped my yields by quite a bit. Thanks

Yo. Please put a little rubberband on the velcro on those probes , just to make sure they dont fall

Are your talking about a bigger picture shot of the underside plumbing? If so, I can't really get a good angle that still isn't confusing to the eye. I'll try to clear out some of the junk underneath and snap a few more.

Woah I had only seen one other tunnel and it was based on yours,
Awesome stuff k33ftr33z, quality design and build efficency.
I will preach gro-tunnel from now on!

Arizona 12 plant veg tunnel

Arizona 12 plant veg tunnel

Recently built this 12 plant veg tunnel for a friend in AZ. They have a 12 plant per patient limit so naturally we will be looking to veg for the largest possible indoor plants. These 12 have a 20" x 24" spacing in this 5' x 8' tunnel. It is lit by a single 400w common hps which is adequate to veg these for awhile. We may add another 400 when the plants get larger. This is the most space I have ever alotted for vegging. This will allow more spreading and training than in past veg units. The 12 buckets are hydraulically connected using a 1" PVC manifold attached to the bottom of the buckets with bulkheads. A 300gph pump fills the control bucket in the corner that is in turn distributed to the other buckets via the manifold. An adjustable overflow controls the high level. All buckets will have an airstone or two as is standard in past builds.

The budding tunnel will be a unique build from past tunnels allowing for the ever larger plants needed to maximize one's plant count limits.

cool idea

I run a simple ebb n grow system 36-48buckets in a 18x9 ft room. (1/2in tubing on the floor), but debating on using a system like yours or med mans in the future. I like tables that are off the ground but I wont be able to make them too high my ceilings are very low at like 6.5ft/7ft between rafters. Not much room to work with but I love that you did the plumbing on the bottom of the buckets much better, congrats.

Love the duct work. Do the PVC pipes have some kind of flexible length / sliding assembly or do you need to cut them with precision?
When I'm looking at stores that carry PVC parts I'm saddened by the prices... Something like a bulkhead shoudn't cost more than a couple of dollars but still the stores charge $15-$20 if they even carry them.

Amazing work. I am so glad I read this. About to switch to a 12 bucket ebb and flow. Now I want to do a tunnel. I love the efficiency of the whole process. You have answered many things I have pondered for quite sometime. Thank you.
