How to deal with overheated rootzone in containers outdoor.

Would like to know if anyone has experience with the container getting too hot during the day i am growing in a peat/perlite mix. Any advice would be really helpful and i feel this would be the best place to ask.

Rice straw mulch, 2"
If root rot occurred, soil drench with copper sulfate.

Cover the sides of the container with something to absorb the heat
Don't let the sun touch the container.

Or place your plant pot inside a larger pot and do something like this:

thanks guys will have to try that. don't know if i can get rice straw mulch and the copper sulfate. any other mulch that would work. not much options where i live @_tessarecting.

@corky1968 wil try that sounds like a plan.

The obvious is use a larger container

if in a 3usg pot go for a 6usg plus size

straw on top is popular

I prefer to paint one side flat white

or cover with a damp sack

You can use a larger pot next time and line the inside with that bubble wrap they use when they send packages. I had the same problem and I just used tape to put a newspaper around the pot and that got me by.

Wrap your containers in a light colored cloth and wet em on exceptionally hot days.
