Nitrogen / Calcium levels and Nectar for the Gods NFTG

Nitrogen / Calcium levels and Nectar for the Gods NFTG

Looks good minus too much N to late in flower in my opinion.

Not trying to knock you down. Strian has potential from the looks of it. Look forward to future post/threads.

Thanks for the feedback Dankwolf. We'd actually thought the same thing RE nitrogen and the downward canoeing/dark leaves - after reading around the forums we concluded convention wisdom was thaT the cause was too much N. We wrote to Scott Ostrander at Nectar for the Gods posing this and, after giving him the results of our latest slurry test he replied:
'Being that we do not focus on Nitrogen and actually have very low amounts, I am guessing that over N is not the issue. I have a feeling that it might actually be a calcium Deficiency.'

He essentially had us increase calcium levels - since then, over the last couple of weeks, we've seen an improvement in that the leaves are uncurling :) Will post updated photos later.

Late in flower? He is only about 1/2 way. Flowers are just starting to set.

Yes, we are hunting for a 14 week rocket-fuel phenotype :D
Around 2/3 of the girls are taller, sativa looking plants. We looked at the Trichomes under glass. Most of the sativa lookers are still showing all/mainly clear trichs.
Around 1/3 of the girls (mainly the smaller NL lookers) have more cloudy trichomes and have now been put in flush for their final stretch, next to a 10k MH finishing lamp. We are in week 9 now (pics to follow) so we're anticipating harvesting the earliest finishers at around 11 weeks and the latest at 14+ weeks.

Hopefully the selected keeper clones will flower in 2-3 weeks less :)

8-9 weeks into bloom :) Keeping an eye on Trichomes - girls with all cloudy Trichomes are being flushed.

Week 9 bloom

Week 9 bloom

A few more bud shots from early week 9 attached.

They are now flowering with all vertical light: 2 x 4k MH, 2 x HPS and 1 x 10k MH. The Halides are made by SolisTek, and put out a ton of UV-B.

Looks fantastic! Stoked to see such excellent specimen coming from the MNS packs. I have 14 or so beans left of the NL5/Haze, I popped four about a year ago during some trials and got all males initially, lol. It happens. I plan to revisit this line again soon, and the Mango Haze, also. Anyway, keep up the great work man!

Thanks Reason. Haha so you should get mostly females from the remaining 14. We're very impressed, it seems growers often aren't willing to take this plant to the 10-14 weeks she needs. The high is excellent, beautiful flavors and so far they have a nice grounding effect from the NL.

We're planning to select a Nev x Mango next! :) Very excited.
