I've always found hip-hop/rap goes very well with cannabis and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. Thought it would be cool to see what others on here are listening to as well.

My top 5 would be:

1. Redman
2. Andre Nickatina
3. Mac Dre
4. MF DOOM
5. GZA

I've always liked Snoop Dog's weed activism, and his sense of humor. He is about the only rapper I know of that doesn't take himself too seriously, and isn't too fixated on bragging about guns, violence and the hos he "contros".

Can't even name a single one of Snoop Dogs tunes, since I rarely ever listen to rap music, but Snoop is cool in my book, and a very good ambassador for us weed connoisseurs.

Generally speaking, music for me is about relaxation and positive vibes, so hearing some guy cussing, "dissing", and threatening to "bust a cap" while the harsh din of industrial machinery rents the air, does not lend itself to relaxation, for me at least.

1. 2pac - His early stuff before he went to prison is truly dirty, gritty, amazing poetry set to some fantastic beats. His stuff after prison you can definitely tell he was a changed man. It's a remarked contrast, and is my number one reason why I love everything he has ever done. To me, he was a true musical genius. You can feel his anger and pain in his music. If you get the chance to watch All Eyez On Me, do it. It's eerie how much the kid looks like Pac. You'll swear he's a clone.
2. I prefer Method Man to Redman, but I do like Redman. Or anybody from Wu-Tang really.
3. Anybody from NWA - there's a reason they're the first rap group in the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame. Everytime I hear the song, I raise my middle finger up high and yell, "FUCK THE POLICE!!!"
4. A Tribe Called Quest - the first Hip Hop song I remember hearing was I Left My Wallet In El Segundo. I was a changed man after that.
5. As mentioned earlier - Snoop. He's got "that music that be captivating me."

Honestly though, I listen to way too much Rap and Hip Hop to simply like 5.

Goody Mob, Scarface, Erik B and Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, Missy Elliot, Qwame, Cypress Hill, Eminem, Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, Slick Rick, Run D.M.C., LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, Sugar Hill Gang, Too Short, Melle Mel, etc...

They're all fucking great.:tiphat:

Groovy lyrics man - and if someone could put the HIP in this HOP - would we then have HIP-HOP? - Hmmm - maybe not.

At the Hop

Danny & the Juniors.

Bah-bah-bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah
Bah-bah-bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah, at the hop!

Well, you can rock it you can roll it
You can slop and you can stroll it at the hop
When the record starts spinnin'
You calypso when you chicken at the hop
Do the dance sensation that is sweepin' the nation at the hop

Ah, let's go to the hop
Let's go to the hop (oh baby)
Let's go to the hop (oh baby)
Let's go to the hop
Come on, let's go to the hop

Well, you can swing it you can groove it
You can really start to move it at the hop
Where the jockey is the smoothest
And the music is the coolest at the hop
All the cats and chicks can get their kicks at the hop
Let's go!
