a self pollinated F1, what might pop out?

Cool thread, so you flowered and are done with the first seed you grew out..
and germed another one? but this time... herms.

:chin: interesting... I have a strain thats like that.. maybe 1 seed every QP
she hermied and pollinated another strain of WW
so I grew that seed out CP x WW and she was a beast grew fast, and without nutrients... no male flowers... but was very very prone to Powdery Mildew didn't make it to flower.. yet.

Its all a dice roll, but chances are it should be 75% just like the parent plant right from hermied self pollinated seeds?

yup, grew out a 2nd seed, and the hermie bullet hit me this time
BlueGrassToker had a nice summary of the genetics lottery, i can't add much to the theory
now my thoughts grow a bit twisted, what do you get from the seed of a hermie whose parent was a hermie?
i suspect things don't get better, and it begins to sound a bit perverse

A bit perverse, maybe...but its all good in the end!
Ive never seen a seeded plant that I wouldn't smoke and enjoy!
Some kick ass sports have hermie tendencies...but they still kick ass.

there is much discussion about the merits(or demerits) of seeded bud
some actually prefer seeded bud, as strange as that may seem
my prior hermie gave me some memories of seeded bud, there is a gentle ripeness in there that can be what the Dr ordered for some of us
you will pay in quantity though, that is something that seedless does do, pump out more usable quantity

case #2 of selfed F1 seeds, and this time the bear ate me
hermied just like the parent, with a vengeance
i did, however, manage to keep up with rooster pruning
not much seed from what i can see, but it was a chore
interesting how this trait expressed so far, complete expression, or none
and a pic for the record

i sampled my 2nd creation, was very pleased to see the buds were nearly seed free
all that work on the roosters really paid off, for quantity anyways
the 1st seed i ran resulted in an excellent quality plant, a good indica base with a nice sativa on top, if that makes sense
now to compare to the 2nd run, and the 2nd run is hideous
the taste is vile, kind of like burning rubber, smell is quite pleasant
the effect is about as bad, some potent but low body buzz
i named this pheno 'ether', and effect and taste seem to go well together
and the 2nd answer to my question what might pop out

another round in hermie land

another round in hermie land

as i have seen written somewhere, 'just as a dog returns to its vomit, so does a fool to his folly'
that said, my medical supplies are low, and a female is much needed at this time, a male not so much
so another round of my hermie seed stock
a quick summary, #1 very good, no hermie trait, #2 was a green horror, hermie and nasty
i did run anther seed that i had thought was a cali-o father with this hermie, but results seem to say it was a S1, wasn't bad actually, but not spectacular
so #4 has been vegging for 27 days, some cold temps have kept it a little behind
seeing some more indica in this one

i left the last grow hanging, which isn't too classy, believe in complete records, or at least outcomes
and that outcome was an apparent male, not a hermie, but a male
which i didn't think was much of a risk for S1 seeds, sigh, well it is a journey of learning
which brings us to the next F1/S1, 1 day into flower, and indica rules the day, big ass cabbage leaves are showing

great to have another grower of the 'twisted' seeds
on balance, i've gotten fair results, but some very good lessons in genetics

day 8 of flower

day 8 of flower

time for the weekly inspection, looks like it's been a good week
very compact plant, just 7 inches tall, and over 15 inches wide, that's bushy
leaves looking sativa up high, so an interesting mix

breeding would be a generous description cheesebuds
still, i like what i see at the moment, pistils are beginning to pop
and this is the most vigorous offspring of these seeds so far

indeed xmobotx, this is a strange acquired taste, you get to peer in to the parent's genetics in a unique way
and speaking of which, at 14 days i'm seeing nothing but pistils, no guarantees, but the signs are promising
and she is filling in the grow chamber beautifully

3 weeks of flower, seeing good development
also the marks of battle, some fan leaf tips toasted from cfl's
sigh, always happens a little
central cola looks to be best part at the moment
and no roosters yet, none that i can see anyways
and thanks xmobotx for the anti hermie vibe, it can't hurt

4 week flower

4 week flower

4 weeks of flower and optimism is increasing
still no sign of the dreaded male parts, and a strong central cola seems to be forming
and the smell, if not touched it's super stealth, i don't think there is any odor
when rubbed, an excellent floral odor of some kind
