 Hey again everyone!
Hopefully I can make this show more intriguing than the title... it took quite a while to think-through and I still haven’t got all the kinks worked out. Here’s what I’ve been doing the last two months:

My bonsai mum cab lineup(l to r, back to front) dabney blueberry, og kush apothercary, white Russian, Bubba kush Pre-98, granddaddy purple, blue dream haze

The closet after tearing down last grow:

S&P td-200x(420cfm) for 1000w cooling and td-100x(100 cfm) for 2’x3’x3’ veg room with 144w 6bulb t-5 inside
picture.php

insulating both S&P’s. Connect ducting, straps, wrap in saran wrap, wrap in insulated ducting.
picture.php

run insulated from 6" duct and seal.

veg/temp mom/clone room in progress

Td-100x insulated and hung for sealed veg room

Wood to build table stand. All parts for stand = $42

Tray stand built

Light cover mounted on flood tray stand

two 2x4 flood trays in a 53" x 72" space

Irrigation: cap art-dne1, 18gal(approx 15fl gal) reservoir, 2 outlet air pump for res's, flex pvc and return line. I am running pump every hour for 15sec with lights on, once for 15 second on lights off.

1000w c.a.p. nextgen ballast

Here is the 1000w cap nextgen ballast mounted where it SHOULDN’T be, inside the growroom…but I have to sleep in the adjacent room :(
picture.php

Here is my ducting setup for the 1000w. I have a homemade 8”di 2.5’ long silencer connected to S&P td-200x (not visable, inside black ducting) connected to a Hydrofarm radiant 8”.
picture.php

This setup makes less noise than my previous setup using 6” duct and a longer 6” silencer. I’ve come to find out the best way to cut down on noise is to insulated and seal every seam and cut down as much as possible on bends/turns in the duct.

two blue dream haze temp moms ready to give another 40 cuts.

bubba kush and gdp temp moms

blue dream haze veg leaf

transplanting 28 blue dream haze clones into 3x3x2.5 cubes
picture.php

28 girls(26bdh, 1 gdp, 1 bubba) vegging for 1 week
picture.php

Moving 28 clones to flower
picture.php

28 babies transplanted in 6” pots

day 1 flower 50% rh, 70°

The odd girls out, gdp(left) and bk(right)

A typical blue dream haze clone (TOO BIG!!)
picture.php

a couple things I need to fix:
-still waiting on my damn pump sediment filters ordered over 3 weeks ago....
-too much negative pressure(adding bigger intake soon)
-clones look a bit wilted/yellow/flushed/too big/etc...its my first time cloning this many and I was behind schedule a week
and the most pressing...
-other 2x4 table is empty! a perpetual grow has to start somewhere, 28 grandaddy purples to fill table in a month.

This is my first time with almost everything in this closet; perpetual, sogging, tables, cycle times, using 1000w, hydroton, 6” pots so any and all help/construction critism is welcome.
Any questions please ask, I’m a bit tired now but will be residing at this thread for many grows to come …:canabis:

hey cmoon, thanks for stopping by. What does squeezing the stem do? I've never run sog so unfamiliar with any sog training techniques. I plan on lollypopping the shit out of them...
Doesn't squeeezing/pinching the stem promote side/branch growth?
thanks my friend! :rasta:

I want my vent ducting to match your cad drawing.

OK, now you have my blood flowing a bit. Maybe you can teach an old dog some of your new kung-fu?

This is going to be killer.

Props brother.

Whew looks like those tables juuust fit into that 53" space, I found out too late that the outside diameter of those nice botanicare "4'" tables is ~53"... too late after building my space :wallbash: Nice and neat setup, very space agey looking with the manifolds and drippers:abduct:

This setup makes less noise than my previous setup using 6” duct and a longer 6” silencer. I’ve come to find out the best way to cut down on noise is to insulated and seal every seam and cut down as much as possible on bends/turns in the duct.
That is some sweet and sexy ducting insulation fan job porno:woohoo: bet it purrs nice and quiet. Whats your overall opinion of those S&Ps now that you've used em' a bit? It sounds like you also found that a larger diameter duct will allow for moving the same volume of air with less resistance, creating less noise. Do you speed congtrol the fans? It really dosen't seem like 8" duct is overkill for one 1000 reflector from what is going on here...

bbing: thanks for grabbing a seat, it might be a bumpy ride but I'm always here. tricks are for kids, we're just honing our skills :friends:

bumble buddy: haha yup the tables just barely fit in there :D I have 55.5" at the smallest width(doorframe-to-wall), and its a semitight squeeze just walking in there.
I contemplated a 4x4 table but the overall deminsions are 53"x53" and I couldn't have it 53" long or I wouldn't be able to walk into the room.

the " 2'x4' " tables are actually 26"x44" which just allows me room to get in there and work...the clothes had to go though :chin:
Thanks a bunch for noticing the duct work, the S&Ps are really a miracle for closet growers. Those bungies hooked to the ceiling helped a ton with vibration noise that I could find no other way to dampen.

It sounds like you also found that a larger diameter duct will allow for moving the same volume of air with less resistance, creating less noise.
You nailed it on the head; larger ducting for less resistance where airflow is the control value @ ~400cfm for a 1000w light. At ~420 cfm from the td-200x, I agree, it didn’t seem like overkill during planning nor now and works magnificently.

I don’t use any fan speed controllers, just run fans on low speed setting, another benefit of the s&p’s. :headbange

djbenzo: thanks for stopping by. yeeah it took a while to plan and save for. It began with a budget and a sketchup drawing but countless holdups and 2 months later its finally done. Good luck with your closet, Ill be checking it out! :canabis:

yo bruv......if you need to control the height on your main stem squeeze the main stem, it can be twisted with just enough tension to break the inner hurd but ive never experienced any problems when splitting the stem (even having to splint it a few days) and yes this will promote bushing, but a follow up of under prune between weeks 2 and 3 if you have an healthy herd will make that higher side branching one big cola........this is a tecnique you can step into by starting off lightly and experiencing the effect over several grows

hope it helps in anyway dude...the methods in my signiture and you can be the judge of results

with the 1000 watter dude id deffinatley invest in an heatsheild/spreader.......it will help in times of crisis and even out that heavy hotspot under the bulb

So I don't have any worthwhile pics but the girls seem to be taking to their new hydroton homes rather slowly...:joint:
I'm still working out the reservoir fluctuations and feeding times, which are now at every 3 hours during lights on and once during lights off. ec 1.2 ph 5.8

haha nice bumble! you're really bungied out there hehe

thanks for the tips cmoon, I'm going to try that twisting on a few of the girls and see if they like it. I thought about buying a light spreader and probably will when my budget allows...does it block any of the output of the bulb or just redistribute and reflect it?

DAMN bbing your agent orage is beautiful! I've never seen her before but wow...how long did you take her? can't wait to see those bdh's blow up!!:yoinks:

oh and both my fans are Soler & Palau(S&P), one is 100cfm(td100x) and the other is 419cfm(td200x)...I think bumble buddy has a panasonic whisperline in his pic.

thanks for the comments y'all!!

Yeah thats a Whisperline fan in my pic, more like a whooshline till I get it muffled better, good fan though..

I'm wondering how many 1000's the S&P td200x or 200 fan could cool... I'm thinking it could probably do 4 of em' using a "Y" split and 2 reflectors on each side... got any impression on that Cannabean?

Can't wait to see how this grow turns out, blue dream haze yumm..
