Cookies n Chem - Chimp Mints - plus a few Cherrygasms

Despite stretching all but above the lights and having the worst seat in the house the cherrygasm produced. It certainly won the smell off, fruity as expected, and looks like it will finish a week ahead of the chimp mints. One of my favorite characteristics is how light it is on leaves so I will try a room full this winter.

These are three of the phenos of Chimp mints. The first is the bulkiest and the second pic is another plant with similar flowers but they are just a little lacking in the frost department. I think the second pheno, the third pic, is the keeper. The flowers are not as big in diameter but they are continuous and the frost is intense bringing with it a fuel musk that reminds me of a strain, venom, I enjoyed a few years back. The last two pics are of separate plants that are similar flowers one leafy and one just frosty buds with hardly any leaves.

Will do. I am looking forward to the evaluation of the effect portion of the comparison. If it’s not enjoyable what’s the point, but I gots a feelin it’s going to be alright.

Recently had this debate with a buddy. We always choose plants for their looks and the way they grow. Partly due to limited space and time. We should be choosing plants for the way they smoke.

So yea you're right. No point in growing sexy plants when they puff like crap.

It’s the last decided piece of the desirable plant puzzle and the one that matters most. The rosin leaves nothing to hide. Strong smells translate to taste. Good taste and good effect are it, color and ease of handling mean nothing in my book. Pretty flowers are for my friends but I often reminisce with them and the effect of flower is undeniable in its smooth effect trajectory. It really maintains and is easily controlled where the rosin is like a slap in the face that widens my eyes. I can’t wait to know what the best of this room has to offer.

Chopped it today, got everything cleaned and reset. The best cherrygasm put out right at half a pound and smelled great. I will put up some bud shots when everything is dried and done. The chimp mints went 70 days and could have went longer. Cookies n chem is leading the rosin taste off.

Here is the attempt at the best Cookies n chem reveg, we will see how it goes. Went from 3 to 5 gal with some dirt and just feed her for a month and see if she makes it. Then a couple of the cherrygasm dried and one of the Durban in the other room.

Coming along nicely! Grow room chores are a constant battle when running perpetual. Seems like every time I think I'm caught up, I remember something else that needs my attention or cleaning:biggrin:

It keeps you busy. Trying to schedule it out to harvest 4 lights every 3 weeks. I have been hand watering veg for too long so I hope to get that worked out this next week and going to try out the megacrop on the dosers. When I reset the other day I ran bleach through the drip lines and put new drippers on but forgot to flush the lines so I fried a few ladies. I was lucky veg was over full and had replacements. Got to squeeze in a day for squishing next week.

The best cookies n chem is the one I am revegging and hasn’t dried as of yet. It’s chunky smaller nugs are frosted dense and run all the way down each branch. The one I thought was the winner hermied but was quality with a cookie structure and a piney fuel aftertaste that really came through. It feels like it cleans your mouth with the exhale. Pressed some rosin and it’s the new favorite. Everything should be done in 10 days or so. A pic after a few days of hanging dry.

Here are a few of the better chimp mint tops. It was a big plant, they are heavy, gooey and supported themselves nicely. I would say it’s an easy 1/2 lb plant and had very few leaves to trim. The effect is clear and energetic with not much cookie in the taste more of a clean sap flavor. I will press some flower rosin tomorrow to concentrate flavor and strength. It took 70 days and could have done 5 more so a little long but if the reveg goes I will try a room full.

Then a couple of the Durban next door filling the isle with golf balls.

What a great show can't believe I've missed it so far. What's the yeild like on your Durban? I've been wanting to grow some out but I don't know where I should get legit Durban seeds from. Those chimp mints are looking awfully nice, need a nice minty strain in my life.

Its brothers Grimm c99xdurban and it’s smell and density is what keeps it and it’s fast, 55-60 days. I have 30 more seeds of it I will be popping in hopes of finding the same thing with stronger structure. This one is a little viney but it flowers flat like broccoli, real big around but flat.

My c99 keeper has the same vinelike growth. She needs supporting in late bloom. Are you seeing any purple tendencies with the Durban crosses or getting fruity smells?

For me the Durban is the viney one. The c99 is stout but slower. The Durban cross is heavy and solid rock balls with a similar fruity smell as the c99 but an oily licorice undertone. It gets a little blue on the leaves but the orange is what you see on the bud. I need to decide which is the best because the smell is similar enough that friends kind of see them as the same even though the effects and even looks are very different. The last pic is the c99, it still has 10 days to go but the Durban cross is done.

The better of the chimp mints put out just over 12 oz had a strong nose with a chemdawg flavor, made some blond squish and is smooth and tasty. I spotted new growth on the reveg so a room full of it will happen at the new year.

The last pic is a cookies n chem bud pic. It has great terpentine taste with an otter ass smell. The competition is stiff. I will run a couple of them a few more times along with the best cherrygasm just to give them a chance.
