Then make a spark over this phat track
Or should I say dope beat
Subtract, delete
All of the wick wack that wanna be abstract
But they lack the new knack that's comin from way way back
Hey yo Premier, please pass that buddha sack
You hear we quit?
No way, bullshit

talib kweli has some decent shit. i cant speak for other yankees, but southern hip hop is just plain terrible. it sounds like a slow motion nursery rhyme over some drums and casio keyboards. no emphasis on lyrical ability.

here is some lyrical ability, one of my favorite verses of all time

The response while I bomb that ass, "You ain't shit!"
Your wack ass town had you gassed
Egos is somethin the Wu-Tang crush
Souped up niggaz on a stage get rushed
I don't give a god damn, on the shows you did
How many rhymes you got, or who knows you kid?
Cuz I don't know ya therefore show me what you know
I come sharp as a blade and I cut you slow
You become so Pat as my style increases
What's that in your pants ahhh human feces!
Throw your shitty drawers in the hamper
Next time come strapped with a fuckin Pamper
How ya sound B? You're better off a quitter
I'm on the mound G, and it's a no-hitter
And my DJ the catcher, he's my man
Anyway he's the one who devised the plan
He throws the signs I hook up the beats with clout
I throw the rhymes to the mic and I strike em out
So it really doesn't matter on how you intrigue
You can't FUCK with those in the major leagues

:D

Yeah I'd concur for the most part. Master P has a few good songs, and older Cash Money is actually bearable. It's by no means intelligent, however it's decent in moderate amounts.

make you see murda like masta p's brotha (but really though, its fucked up what happened to c murder, i am convinced he was innocent, they had NO CASE they used his fucking lyrics against him)

(fuck all you hoes) get a grip motherfucker.

Yeah, this album is dedicated to all the teachers that told me
Id never amount to nothin, to all the people that lived above the
Buildings that I was hustlin in front of that called the police on
Me when I was just tryin to make some money to feed my daughters,
And all the niggaz in the struggle, you know what Im sayin?

Uh-ha, its all good baby bay-bee, uh

Verse one:

It was all a dream
I used to read word up magazine
Saltnpepa and heavy d up in the limousine
Hangin pictures on my wall
Every saturday rap attack, mr. magic, marley marl
I let my tape rock til my tape popped
Smokin weed and bamboo, sippin on private stock
Way back, when I had the red and black lumberjack
With the hat to match
Remember rappin duke, duh-ha, duh-ha
You never thought that hip hop would take it this far
Now Im in the limelight cause I rhyme tight
Time to get paid, blow up like the world trade
Born sinner, the opposite of a winner
Remember when I used to eat sardines for dinner
Peace to ron g, brucey b, kid capri
Funkmaster flex, lovebug starsky
Im blowin up like you thought I would
Call the crib, same number same hood
Its all good

Uh, and if you dont know, now you know, nigga, uh

Chorus:

You know very well who you are
Dont let em hold you down, reach for the stars
You had a go, but not that many
cause youre the only one Ill give you good and plenty

Verse two:

I made the change from a common thief
To up close and personal with robin leach
And Im far from cheap, I smoke skunk with my peeps all day
Spread love, its the brooklyn way
The moet and alize keep me pissy
Girls used to diss me
Now they write letters cause they miss me
I never thought it could happen, this rappin stuff
I was too used to packin gats and stuff
Now honies play me close like butter played toast
From the mississippi down to the east coast
Condos in queens, indo for weeks
Sold out seats to hear biggie smalls speak
Livin life without fear
Puttin 5 karats in my baby girls ears
Lunches, brunches, interviews by the pool
Considered a fool cause I dropped out of high school
Stereotypes of a black male misunderstood
And its still all good

Uh...and if you dont know, now you know, nigga

Verse three:

Super nintendo, sega genesis
When I was dead broke, man I couldnt picture this
50 inch screen, money green leather sofa
Got two rides, a limousine with a chauffeur
Phone bill about two gs flat
No need to worry, my accountant handles that
And my whole crew is loungin
Celebratin every day, no more public housin
Thinkin back on my one-room shack
Now my mom pimps a ac with minks on her back
And she loves to show me off, of course
Smiles every time my face is up in the source
We used to fuss when the landlord dissed us
No heat, wonder why christmas missed us
Birthdays was the worst days
Now we sip champagne when we thirst-ay
Uh, damn right I like the life I live
cause I went from negative to positive
And its all...

(its all good)

...and if you dont know, now you know, nigga, uh
Uh, uh...and if you dont know, now you know, nigga
Uh...and if you dont know, now you know, nigga, uh

Representin b-town in the house, junior mafia, mad flavor, uh
Uh, yeah, a-ight

Yeah it's a shame what happened to C-Murder (well assuming he didn't do it). There was a complete lack of physical evidence, I've never heard of someone getting convicted based merely on "eye witness" testimonies...especially considering no one actually saw the shooting.

i agree with you the h-town mainstream rap is total buttsus but as you see i only mentioned two dirty south rappers the original scarface who is like no other southern rap. and south park mexican is like no other rapper awesome beats and even better lyircs dont hate on spm before you hear some of his shit just download some of his stuff like screens falling, i must be high, one of those nights, and filthy rich. dont get me wrong i would pick army of the pharoh shit anyday over spm but spm and scarface does not deserve to be grouped in the shit that is coming out of h-town and the rest of the south now because they are so much better.

"Filthy Rich"

Oooohh

Uh

It's the same ol' shit in the same ass place
my studio smells like ten ash trays
my nigga still gettin' too fucked up
And I'm still smokin' too much blunts
Haters always gon' run they mouth
And keep tryin' to take me out
Mama always gonna worry herself
And me I can't forget the pain I felt
Even though I drive a new 6 double 0
They be thinkin' like "What is Los frontin' for?"
I bought a club and they filled up with envy
Now every body pissed cuz they can't get in free
New enemies still poppin' up
Throw away gats still chop 'em up
I walk in and the whole club stands still
More money more problems that's real

This is what an ol' G told me
filthy rich and dyin' lonely
"Fuck a benz and fuck a rolly, life is what you make it, homie."

This is what an ol' G told me
filthy rich and dyin' lonely
"Fuck a benz and fuck a rolly, life is what you make it, homie."

My little baby-girl just turned 6
I gave her the biggest room in my crib
she gets what she wants so does her mama
I don't think they know the value of a dollar
fine-ass bitches all in my limosine
I just wish I was jumpin' on my trampoline
But my babies I miss my children
To me that's worth more than trillions and trillions
She calls me "Fat-boy" says I'm "loco"
And she doesn't understand when I gotta go
Hope she doesn't think I don't wanna be wit her
Hope she knows that it hurts not to be wit her
Hope she knows that wit her I'm the happiest
I can't make it to her piano practices
When I was young my ol' man left us
And I pray dat she won't be like I was

This is what an ol' G told me
filthy rich and dyin' lonely
"Fuck a benz and fuck a rolly, life is what you make it, homie."

Playa hataz wanna play me close
Do you really wanna meet Carlos?
Do you really wanna feel my wrath?
Mad cuz your bitch want my aut-o-graph
Nigga I don't wanna fuck yo' hoe
But I'll let her suck my dick and lick my ass-hole (ha-hah)
Started out with a silly game of footsie
Now I got her eatin' out her best friends pussy
Rollin' hydro sippin' on Chris
When I was broke I would dream about this
Get my back rubbed in a big bath tub
I don't know her name but she's showin mad love
I got 7 G's sittin' in my pants
And my jewlry is underneath those lamps
I'm gettin' sleepy all you hoes gotta bail
Once again I'm in the bed by myself
All alone in another city
I get my bill the Chris was 9.50
2 G's for them bottles of Don P
It was just me and the hoes was free

This is what an ol' G told me
filthy rich and dyin' lonely
"Fuck a benz and fuck a rolly, life is what you make it, homie."

filthy rich and dyin' lonely
"Fuck a benz and fuck a rolly, life is what you make it, homie."

Yeah, fuck a benz, fuck a rolly, family comes first, and I'm alone,
Ye-e-e-eah.
This is what an ol' G told me, He died lonely...

this is what an OG told me, filthy rich and dying lonely; fuck a benz and fuck a rollie, life is what you make it, homie...

I'm the kid that lost his sanity; the kid that had the toys with no batteries... my mom sat me down for some serious talks, about how to keep the rats out the cereal box....

Man one of the best flows i ever heard is from the UK, SLICK RICK!!!! I havent really gotten into much brit flow but I bet its good shit. Lately Ive been into underground shit, beats is what im all about. Asheru and the Blue Black of the Unspoken Heard are in my player a lot. J-live is another one. Consequence, Da Grassroots, Quasimoto, Matt Fingaz, L-Fudge and a lot more that I cant think of right now. Ive been listening to hip hop since 1990. I first got into it and quickly found groups like public enemy, NWA, Naughty by Nature, the Ghetto Boys, ice t, shit even kid and play HAHAHA. I never discriminate when it comes to music. I was brought up around country music and classic rock. My father played in a couple bands while i was growing. Of course I listen to commercial stuff still but its mostly the classics or something that i just like beats off of. I dont like Kanye West the rapper but I listen to his beats because they are top shelf. Nicolay representin on the European side with some sick jazzy tracks CITY LIGHTS!!!! This is how I do... :joint:

OFF TOPIC: hey true how ya been mate? Long time no speaky. Let a brother know how ya been.
