What age did you stop being shocked?

Hi,

I'm currently very numb. I have the overwhelming sensation that

"There is nothing new under the sun."

I see people around me get flipped out over various issues in the news.

By in large the world just seems so gray.

So my question is

At what age did you stop being shocked?

Was there an event that shocked you after you thought you had "seen it all?"

Or maybe you are amazed everyday. If so please share.

I'll answer first.

I went numb at age 34.

Since then nothing amazes me.

I don't know about shocked, but I still get surprised all the time, and I'm over 55. Getting stoned still surprises me in a way. I smoke a little bit of this flower, and something amazing happens to my brain and body.

I'm almost 40. I still feel shocked on occasion browing the "casual encounters" section on craigslist. I keep thinking I've seen it all, but nope. There's always something new I had never thought of or expected. People are into some weird and funny shit.

I can't say I'm all the way numb yet, but I started noticing that happening around age 28 and it just keeps getting (worse? stronger? bigger?). I don't know the correct word at the moment ::cough cough::

Haha exactly! I remember thinking one day, "the only reason I wanted to go online was to play video games with people across the country....how did it come to this?"

it's getting harder for me to be truly shocked. now, if the head of the DEA was to come on TV tonight and announce that, "in accordance with an agreement of heads of the GOP & Democratic parties , the DEA was going to remove cannabis in all forms from scheduling entirely, save restricting its availability to minors under the age of 18 and keeping it illegal to be driving while ripped to the gills. grow what you want, where you want, and for all you asshats out there that don't like it? here's a quarter, go call someone who gives a fuck..." now, THAT might shock me...

I think you can be shocked until any age

But when your older and get shocked, you might not survive

saw bomb violence in childhood, got a decade on you OP. you'd think so but as someone else put it, you sink into a lull then the depth of someone's cruelty shocks you again.

read about james walbert.. u.s. court verified, the brother is chipped. a business partner drugged him, he wakes up three days later with blood coming out his ears.

goes to the doctor, doctor says "hey i can see somethig metal in there, but i can't get it out".

james is a lucky motherfucker. he's been catscanned and stuff, got five implants in his neck for tracking and schocking. but, the ones in his ears don't work.

james is a TI, or targeted individual. if you get your mind out of the malaise the media puts it in (seen those "all our stories are faked, the cia made us do it" news articles lately.. care about them? didn't think so...) you realise, there are hundreds of thousands of TIs in the u.s. alone.

they have extensive documentation, but it's hard to get doctors et c. who will risk their careers to say "yes this guy has a chip, i expect the govt put it in him, and i'm going to take it out" - you can see how long their career will last.

now, i'm not gonig to talk about my personal experiences, people in the news i know, or anything, but you think about what it would be like to live if someone who hates your ass has a direct line to your ears or your brain, and can pump whatever shit they like down it 24/7.

then you read and find out that the tech isn't just simple - there are people with extensive documentation of stuff in their eyes et c. sure - some of it is so far out, it's only there to create disbelief, but, one day, every american is going to know for sure that this shit is real, it's not bullshit, and people are being tortured in ways that other people just have no fucking clue about.
