I thought they would be the last though. Okie from Muskogee song going thru my mind.

good job Oklahoma. I used to work with a guy from tusla a few years ago. he tole me some good stories about his teen years and smoking the brick and this one time accidentally dropping the doobie and setting his buddies couch on fire. hopefully some hidden gems will come outta the woodwork now.

I respect the will of the voters in any question placed before them to determine the direction of our state. It is our responsibility as state leaders to look out for the health and safety of Oklahoma citizens. As I mentioned in previous public comments, I believe, as well as many Oklahomans, this new law is written so loosely that it opens the door for basically recreational marijuana. I will be discussing with legislative leaders and state agencies our options going forward on how best to proceed with adding a medical and proper regulatory framework to make sure marijuana use is truly for valid medical illnesses.

Mary... you need to make sure you're educated on cannabis first. When you're educated on the subject, you'll realize the only way to prevent harm to the public is to allow recreational cannabis, full support for growing, possession and exchange.

Anything else is going to hurt your state, just like prohibition has been hurting it for decades. Watch what happens.

It may come as a surprise to many but progressive thought has a long history in Oklahoma. In the first few years of statehood we were a stronghold for the socialists. Woody Guthrie was born and raised here. It seems as if the buckle of the bible belt is loosening.

We also have a history of outdoor grows. Southeastern Oklahoma's forests have long been growing weed.

I have always thought that song was funny as I know that people from Muskogee like their weed as well as other substances. Merle was of Okie descent, not Okie himself. He was singing nostalgically about the motherland. By the way, we Okies in Oklahoma do not see the term Okie as an insult. All the weak ones left for California.

I've actually met Merle in his later days myself, lived in the same town as him for most of my youth. My dad used to drink with him at the local bar. As far as I was aware he quite liked his puff in his later years as well. The guys got one of the best voices in country as well. Anyways, getting nostalgic, good on you Okies, you guys seem to have drafted a pretty reasonable law as well.

We (as a state) have collected enough signatures on petition to have a vote to amend our state constitution to allow recreational canabis. As a consturational amendment the lawmakers won't be able to change it. What they will do is stall the vote as long as they can get away with. We should be able to vote on this in November, but they may stall and hold off the vote for 2 more years. Whether waiting hurts or helps our cause remains to be seen.

Spread the word about State Question 797. Vote yes!

Well that sucks.

Well that sucks.

It looks like we will have to be satisfied with medical for now. Eventually recreational will pass here with a more responsible group quarterbacking the issue.

I sure hope that someone with better organizational skills take up the torch and gives this another go.
