Is there any way to dry the buds so that they stay more intact?

The flowers of cannabis will always shrink when dried because the moisture content of the live plant is always much more than when it dies and dries. It's not something you can escape, only thing you can do is get bigger, denser colas. The more a single bud weighs, the more compact and dense it is.
