First run with dosatrons

I have a trip coming up so I have been preparing. I went with simple float valves in six reservoirs. Had to make a little spacer clamp since they are flexitanks. I moved the sprinkler timer valve close to the spigot so there is only water in the building for two hours each night. It should keep the tanks topped off. I am trying foliage pro and fulvic acid at 5mls each per gallon fed every couple hours. I am keeping veg very light just taking care of moms and a few clones. It’s two rooms flowering mostly the brothers grim Durban poison x cindy99 and about 9 sour diesels. There are ball valves that allow any rez or combo to be filled with nutes or plain water. It will either work or it won’t.

We will see

I closed the door today and won’t see what’s behind it for 5 weeks. Put in 2 100 lb propane tanks so the co2 stays right. I feel good about the ec hitting 1.3 and a ph right at 6.2 in all the Rez. Veg is modest and I wish it were a week further along but it might work. The two flower rooms look about how I was hoping and should top out at about the right height. I replaced all the drippers and some plumbing in hopes of covering any potential catastrophic failures. It will get a visit or two for basic adjustments but it’s a one man show normally so changes will be limited.

This is the other flower room. It’s 3 lights of the brothers Grimm durbanxc99 and then 1 light of sour diesel and they are about 2 weeks in.

Dried and pressed durban ready for vacation. Picked up a bunch of 100 watt quantum boards to try. Putting 8 on a big wire shelf for early veg and then 8 over a 4x8 in flower to see what they can do when we get back.

It looks to me like your Dosatrons are not plumbed properly. They should run in series NOT parallel as the flow rates will be different. The way you have it yes they will each dose 5ml/gallon but the number of gallons flowing through each leg will combine different.

You are correct

The ones I purchased only went down to 1:500 so instead of finding a nutrient that was more diluted or diluting my foliage pro I went this route. I tuned them so that they are putting in 10 ml a gallon and then they mix in what should be equal parts. I am using them to fill reservoirs so a little inline variation should equal out in the tanks. That being said, I only had things working for a few days and I haven’t been home in a month and the doors have not been opened so we will see how it works. Everything is on autopilot as an experiment/challenge. We should be back in a couple of weeks to give it a look. It will be without any outside input for 40 days and I can’t wait to see. I will try jacks and calnit starting in the fall.

I would have set up a security camera system that I could log into remotely...
cameras facing plants, a permanent ph/ec reading on res, temp/humidity monitor, and anything else you want to observe.
Shoot I go away for weekends only generally and would love to have 4 cameras in my room so I can check on things for peace of mind!

Deff interested to see how this all works out for ya! I love low maintenance/ auto setups. My room self sustains fairly well but there’s always something small to check on adjust or whatever

I wish I had

There is no internet in my building. It’s the first time with dosatrons but the rooms have been going for a while so I have some hope. I have done a lot of 7-10 day trips but this is a stretch, I just couldn’t turn it off. The surf has been perfect but i am looking forward to being home just to see.

One more day

One more day

And another 10 hour stretch of driving and I get to see what’s been going on. It’s been 38 days since it has been checked. The sd and the Durban should be all but a short flush to finish and the other room will be about 2 weeks out. Veg should be a jungle. If there are survivors that will be good enough. Regardless, it will be some work to get it all back on the routine and my favorite time of the year is just around the corner.

Back home

Back home

It’s hot and the road was long but went well. The ph was about 6.5 in every tank most likely from only emptying 20% each day before it’s nightly refill. Got the ph down and turned off the refill to empty the tanks. They stayed pretty clean with the foliage pro. The sour diesel has some pm on the back left but it looks isolated. The Durban was a little more floppy than normal but it’s almost done and floppy isn’t all bad. The c99 in the other room has a lot of under growth so it has hurt the cola size but there are a couple weeks to swell them up and there are plenty of tops and I will tumble what’s small. The veg. is a mess and i will just start over with new clones. Everything got super stretchy and grew up to the lights and broke some branches so it will be better to get some clones from a friend.

One of the drippers disconnected so the middle plant in the first pic. dried out but it looks like it’s only been a week or so and it might not be dead. The other pics are of the c99 room that still has a couple weeks to go. I got lucky.
