Has anyone had their prostate removed?

T

Teddybrae

The question for me is: Does your Prostate REALLY need to be removed?

this is important to me because after removal of a cancerous kidney the Specialist I gave a fortune in money to remove it asked me: "I see the X rays show yr Prostate is enlarged Mr X. Are you interested in having me remove it?"

No Shame this guy ... no problems with my Prostate except age-related enlargement and he wants to make money from me. Well, I said: "No Thanks" but I thought: " You money hungry Prick!"

So Surgeons repair damaged people but they also remove body parts just because that's what they do. This self interest can come ahead of your best interest!

I hope you are genuinely in need. I hope you have sought a second opinion. I hope the op goes well and sex is something you and yr Missus can continue to do.

Cheers from the Land of Oz!

referring to Mr Switcher's post above ...

I have a Friend who had his prostate removed and he was assured all would be well. It was not.

Can you expand on that Teddy? My friend's dad simply stated you still orgasm but, it simply leaks out as the pump has been removed.

Shit. I'm about to be at the age where I suppose the doc will want to give me the ol' finger without taking me to dinner first. Hope all goes well with your procedure. My step grandpa had prostate cancer and recovered well afterwards. Couldn't function in bed anymore but got to keep his life.

Listen to this guy.

Can u say why you need it removed?
Cancer?

My dad had a similar op.
He had prostate and top of bladder removed
Due to cancer. Was a big thing.
If your not going to die I wouldn't do it.

It will kill your sex life.
Only option is injections,
Good luck getting more than 2 a week.

I'm scared of this stuff....

I asked my doctor a few years ago if i needed a prostate check or anything else, because i don't really know what age i would really need to worry about these things.
He just said not at my age, don't worry about it.
I kind of felt stupid.... am i supposed to ask for these things or are they supposed to check things as a routine check up?

In the Navy, once you reach 40, you get a medical once a year and receive a finger wave. After 50, they will also do a colonoscopy (elective).

I had 2 biopsies done on my prostate. One in 2012 when they discovered it. The other in 2018 when they said it was time for treatment. Either turn it into a dead mass that I carry around for the rest of my life. Through radiation. Or surgically remove it. I chose surgery. Get IT out of me!!!!

most men don't have it checked until up into their 50s, or when problems arise, whichever comes first...

Fair enough, Cobber!

It is said by Statistics (whoever that is) ... that many if not most men at end of life will have a cancerous prostate. It will not kill them. Other things will first.

so there you are. That's god's punishment for having a dick!

No sorry. Can't explain further. Can't even ring my friend as he's wandering about Oz at the moment in a winnebago with his phone turned off. ditto email.

He was quite unhappy when he told me tho ... the dirty old ram! He's a church of england minister too! you'd think they'd know better ...

But stats on sexual performance after the op should be easily available on the web somewhere ...

cheers!

I made it! Had an excellent team and a 3 million dollar robot that did the surgery. I just smoked bowlful, the first in 11 days. It sure helps me. Bless you all.

I thought they starting checking way earlier than that. Guess I'm off the hook for the time being.
