That's true, but for that to work, you had to have thought ahead to leave enough room in your container for more medium.
Dammit! I knew I forgot something. You can actually get away with building up a little pyramid around the stem, even if your medium is near the top of your container. I broke a clone stem due to clumsiness, not a complete break but most of the way. It was laying flat on the edge of the cup. I just piled the coco up and watered as usual. Plant is in flower now and looks like all the rest of its clone sisters

I agree this thread is like a junk drawer. It has become a good source of information and has a lot of good tips that are super helpful. It does take a bit of time to comb through the many pages but well worth it.
