What's the deal?!?!??! My kids know what a cigarette is, and that they're bad...... why do we need to endure our young children asking and worried about whether or not they have erectile dysfunction..... lmao my 5 yr old daughter at that just asked lol. I told her hopefully you'll never experience that!

plus this drives up the cost of medicine in the US
(and have you ever seen the side effects they list too, tehy seem worse than the ailments they were meant to treat in a lot of cases)

medication should not be advertised directly to the consumer

Exactly! I hate when they say "Ask your dr if this medicine is right for you". Isn't your dr supposed to tell you what medicine to take? :dunno:

i would rather my kid start smoking than be taking some of the pills that are pushed these days on TV, thats for sure.

i wasnt allowed to watch tv until i was like 10. and i agree, pharmaceutical advertising is offensive and pretty gross too.

Viagra doesn't cause cancer and take 20 years off your lifespan. At least I hope it doesn't.

Never know!!! Not the health risks I'm talking about, just think it's weird we can have suggestive posts about big pharma drugs, and tobacco isn't ok. Not condoning smoking, nor do I smoke... just a comparison. Cheers!!

I hear ya. The amount of psych/add drugs being pushed on kids nowadays is disturbing.

Exactly they push those drugs..... no matter the side effect!! You may fix your dysfunction..... but you may also get diarrhea, oily discharge ect.... just saying that big pharma fix for all is no better that cigarettes... The side effects of alot of that stuff is crazy to me!! Cheers everyone don't take the title the wrong way, just a comparison for conversion.

all prescription drug commercials should be banned.

just going off the top of my head here but im pretty sure we're one of the few countries that actually allow drug co's to advertise on TV and whatnot to consumers. there's a reason all those ads end the same way -- 'ask your doctor if xxx is right for you' -- cause legally they aren't allowed to do any more than that (as if that isn't bad enough).

Just seems those commercials make people hypochondriacs!! Kinda like I was comparing commercials of camels and such.. seems every 2 commercials are a big pharm one. No wonder the doctors offices are full, people are brainwashed that there is a end all be all, for all ailments. Not knocking people with serious chronic pain!! Nor "truly life saving meds" just the ones you go, wow they have a pill for that?!?!? I'm in pain... smoke a bowl.... feeling mental.... smoke a bowl..... Cheers

I'm not a fan of laws, but if anything should be illegal it is that! I do agree!

I always liked the line "if you experience an erection for more than 4 hours see your doctor."

I agree, drugs should not be advertised. It's the doctor's job to prescribe medications, not consumers asking because they're being swayed by Madison Ave. The clout of the Pharma companies.

The only two countries running these ads are New Zeland and the USA. This info should not be in the hands of non medical people.

Pharmaceuticals shouldnt be advertised to consumers. Neither should cigarettes. You shouldnt ever question the ban on cigarette commercials.
