HPS bulb melted and fell out of fixture!

Damn,
I run a room with bare bulb hps hanging vertically. I hope this doesn't happen to me.
Im glad the op was able to prevent further fire damage

that happened to me a few days ago ,in front of my eyes.i open up my 4x4 tent and the blub starts turning white,the glass starts melting in the middle of the bulb.bubbles out.i shut off power.

when we had heat wave here last month,i changed the 1000 watt bulb to a 600 watt lumatec bulb.but I forgot to turn the lumatec dial a watt down to 600 from 1000.

bulb lasted month before melt down.
