Alright first run of this strain from seed yielded 45g in dirt under a 600w hps se bulb in a sealed hood. It was the smallest of the 5 plants in that run. Second go round I pulled 9.75 oz and it took up 2/3 of the tent. It shared the tent with an OG kush that time. Light changed from 600w single ender in a sealed hood to a phantom 1000w de that ran at 750w half way through bloom. Here are a few pictures.

Now as far as this run goes here are the vitals- she has been in my diy dwc bubbler for almost 2 weeks and is p
Pretty happy about it. I cut the main stalk at the above the second node a few days ago. It didn't seem to shock her too much. Not much sign of anger or stunted growth. Training and bondage to start soon.

Another week of growth. Just transplanted into its new home. It's sitting under a 1000w de phantom in a Rubbermaid tote that holds 10 gallons of nutrient solution. Ph is at 5.5, ppm at 800.

This is what happens when a plant doesn't get any water for roughly 12 hours. When I transplanted it to the bigger net pot all the roots were wrapped in the bottom of the bigger pot. The waterline wasn't high enough for the airstone bubbles to spray the bottom of the pot. This was 3 days ago.

This was the first time that ever happened. so corrective actions taken were raising water level to the bottom of the net pot and centering airstone directly under the net pot. She is slowly coming back around. I'm thinking a week of slow recovery and a fair bit of pruning as needed. The light is at the top of the tent well over 3 feet above it and dimmed to 600w. Hydroponics great when things are running propperly and devastating when things go wrong...

Some good news is I got my last harvest weights in. I ran 4 plants for 11 weeks and I got 17.62 ounces! Purple trainwreck, og kush, super lemon haze, and a cut of sour diesel of mysterious breeding. This was my first 1+ pound harvest. The interesting part is that the only nutrients used was maxibloom! No bloom boosters or black magic. Worth noting that I didn't see quite as much resin I normally see, but not by much. I'll load pictures if anyone is interested. The heaviest yield was the super lemon haze at 7.21 oz. All weights are with super dry bud as I convert most of the yield into bho or qwiso.

I have yet to kill a plant, but I've had a few close calls... learning the ropes of hydro was a rough road. This was an easy fix. Curing root rot on the other hand is a massive pain in the ass. My first plant grown with hydro was a blue dream. 3 different outbreaks of root rot, one of which was 2 weeks into bloom. These plants are very resilient and will tell you what's wrong if you listen to them.

One thing that I have done that might be a cheap fix to your water level troubles, is to add a top feed system which is a pump in the res that goes to a 6 way diverter to a 3/16" tube that goes into each net pot. You're getting lb+ yields so it's obviously not a critical component, but it seems to help speed up growth in the first weeks of veg before a good root ball has formed in the res. Once I went out of town in the first week of flower and more than 1/3 of my res had evaporated but the top feed kept the roots fed and I saw no issues.

Gtg I have a nice root ball. It was coiled in the bottom of the bigger net pot. I start with 3" net pots in my cloner then transplant to bigger net pots for when they get to the tote. I appreciate the tip with the top feed, but I don't want to have any extra pumps to worry about. The only trouble is I didn't fill it high enough on the initial fill. My system works as long as I'm not a bone head. I concur that these are some thirsty plants tho... depending on plant size I have had a few that drank over a gallon a day occasionally. That's one of the 2 reasons I switched to 18 gallon totes. The other reason is larger resivoirs have slower ph drift.

So to recap here is before no water for 12 hours, after no water for 12 hours, and after 2 weeks of nurturing back to good health. Here's to hoping the rest of the grow goes smoothly😂:wallbash:

Why t5? Lowest end of veg you could really do, compared to 1000 de which is up there with most intense flo you could do.

1000w de in a 6.5 ft tent? I highly doubt it. Fixture displacement, light distance to canopy, and then grow container displacement will eat almost all of your vertical space.

Why t5? Well that's what I use for my bonsai moms. It creates a wide, even footprint with a low heat output. Currently the plant pictured above is under a 1000w bulb that is dimmed in the aforementioned space to 600w. I slowly crank up the wattage as thermal headroom, and plant allows. I didn't plan on purchasing a 1000w de phantom, but the Price was right. Yes it is overkill but ventilation will allowed it to run within parameters at 600-1000w with appropriate head spacing. I'll keep the plant wide and low which should let the penetration of the high wattage settings of 750 to 1000w to develop

Dense colas with minimal popcorn. Verticle space is a premium, hence the scrog vs growing trees. You have a better idea to utilize the space within these parameters ghost?

Frankly i think your scrog method is a very eficient use of space, however when vegging out sometimes scrog is less efficient in terms of time. Its hard to do perpetual, and typically requires more veg.

Make no mistake i am not knocking the use of space, but general consensus is it takes approx 1-2 ft of space for the hood/ballast at ceiling depending on setup, then 3ft from bulb to canopy for 1k de, then a foot at least for grow container... see where im going here?

This only works because you are keeping bulb closer to end canopy height than is typical for double ended lighting. Sorry if i missed it, is your hood the air cooled one ? I ask because phantom ac de hood does not have a sealed optic lense system to protect bulb from heat loss due to cooling, unlike sunsystems hoods. Huge diff in price, output, overall efficiency. If unfamiliar, teneral premise is that there needs to be a second layer of glass to trap in heat so bulb itself is not exposed to exhaust, and only residual heat gets exhausted. Phantom ac can only be set to 10% fan speed. De bulbs need higher temps to achieve their famous par output. Good videos on youtube if youre curious. If i am wrong and its not air cooled then i have noidea hoe you manage in that small space and hats off to you.

Raise wattage if you can of course but i suspect 600 de is all youll need man, given the space.

Edit: i use t5 for bonsai moms too. I also LST like you are doing. I like to open up canopy and turn mids to tops so i run trains on my girls every time, less so if naturally squat indica like gdp. This is LST not scrog.
