Fruit Rind For Spider Mite Control

I found this cool video how a woman controls spider mites in her worm bin using cantaloupe rind.

You eat the fruit and use just the rind as bait for the spider mites. Each day you wash the spider mites
off the fruit rind and place the rind back on your soil to bait more spider mites. It may not get rid of 100% of them but it's a easy and non chemical way to help your plants out.

in the comments section it mentions those as being soil mites.... the lady calls them spider mites but she is incorrect....

The rinds are great for making fungus gnats and fruit flies. Not so much for baiting spider mites.

you can use a potato cut in half cut portion facing the soil

it acts as a root and draws root feeders and their predators

the best control for bins that aren't being cycled out are predator mites because they will sustain their population and seed your pots
