I always liked Johnny Carson. Ed sullivan was a little strange, but on occation I liked the music. Remember when the Beatles played?

I was just a kid and the folks would be howling in laughter, curiosity always got me to sneak halfway down the stairs to watch Carson through a gap in the stairway wall.

sure I remember seeing the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show but Topo Gigio was still my favorite.......

Fess up! how many of you old farts need a nap?

Guilty your honor!(during the hot months that it is)

but I do always get up at the crack of dawn, always have, it's the best time of the day..cool, quiet and new.....and anyway, during Summertime here, it's too hot to be outside during 11 am ~ 2.30 pm, so I get up early, get stuff done and siesta around midday then get to bed again around midnight....so I usually get 6 hours sleep at night and another 1 or 1 1/2 hours sleep during the day...works for me

Many people don't like to nap, but that's mainly due to waking up and feeling groggy for hours afterward, but persevere with it for a week and you will soon get used to the rhythm and be able to snap out of the grogginess and into being up and at em in a few minutes

Oh My God! I really thought there might be something wrong with me......

I'm not the only one!!!!!! Naps rule! I nap nearly every day .... I work a labor intensive job and smoke all day long.... get home at 5 or so ...sleep till 7:30 and get up and I'm up till 1 or so. Feels like I get 2 days out of 1.

i have NEVER been able to cat nap. i don't know how it can be done. i hope that changes some day. maybe i just sleep to good and long at night? my dad always would. but he went thru ww2.

I drove truck & taxi for a living and could catch 15 mins whenever I was too spent which would rejuvenate me for hours more windshield time.

these days I get two naps a day, it's all the sleep I get. no matter what I don't get more than 6 straight hours at best & that's with the help of Ambien CR, but usually I only get 3-3.5 when I lay down feeling sleepy.

From the article "Chrysohoou also suspected that Ikarians’ sleep and sex habits might have something to do with their long life. She cited a 2008 paper by the University of Athens Medical School and the Harvard School of Public Health that studied more than 23,000 Greek adults. The researchers followed subjects for an average of six years, measuring their diets, physical activity and how much they napped. They found that occasional napping was associated with a 12 percent reduction in the risk of coronary heart disease, but that regular napping — at least three days weekly — was associated with a 37 percent reduction. She also pointed out a preliminary study of Ikarian men between 65 and 100 that included the fact that 80 percent of them claimed to have sex regularly, and a quarter of that self-reported group said they were doing so with “good duration” and “achievement.” "

I´ll have one later on.

Alone

When I started growing my whole life changed.
Im on the same schedule as my ladies.
My alarm clock goes off 5 min before lamps on and 10 min before lamps out.
When they sleep, I sleep. I get 10 -14 hours a day of sleep. I smoke all day long from 5:30am thru 5:30pm. I take a catnap at around 2pm - 5pm and then back to bed from around 7pm -5am. Sometimes I stay awake for The Walking Dead and Ultimate Fighter but other than that Im a sleeper for sure.
With my whole life on a thin string and me being in the pressure cooker for the last 40 years Im gonna smoke and sleep it away.

Working very hard didnt work. I gained alot of muscle but got nowhere financially. Actually... since I decided to learn 3 trades I got nothing but debt stacked to the cieling just to get the tools and truck needed. Then it got repoed when work died down and I owe for 2 trucks that I dont even own and owe 20,000 bucks for back taxes because in order to make enough money to live I needed to be a sub- contractor.
SO NOW IN AMERICA...ITS CITIZENS HAVE TO PAY $50,000 -$75,000 JUST TO WORK???? (APT, CAR, INSURANCE, CABLE, ELECTRIC,TOOLS, SCHOOL) FUK YOU AMERICA. ILL PASS ON ANYMORE OF THAT BULLSHIT!

I may have ranted/vented about this before, might be Pete or repeat, I'm not sure, but it pisses me off that taking a lot of naps is an indicator of clinical depression now. 20 minute "power" naps have over and over been shown to be a huge benefit for your body and mind, therefore society would reap HUGE benefits from everybody doing that. But no, our fucked up medical system in the US relates napping to clinical depression when the OPPOSITE is way more likely. I told my doctor I nap, what does he do? Gives me samples of Lexapro. Then can't figure out why I don't like doctors. My insurance is great, but I won't be a pawn in there fucked-up game and bounced around in that screwy system. MORE MRIs, MORE CT scans, MORE ultrasounds, this specialist, that specialist, OUCH! I'm done with it. Thanks for PRACTICING on me. NOPE.

waking up from a nap feeling better than you had before is a hands down winner every time.

my doctor knows I'll never take anymore anti-depressants ever again and so when I walked into his office a few yrs ago and said I've never been so depressed in my life didn't bother to offer, good man.

as usual, I got over it.......
