Greetings friends.
I hope all is well and everyone is having a nice week.

I harvested the 4 gorilla bubble plants last night and my flower tent is empty but not for long. I have 4 cobra lips from clone vegging that are about ready to pot up and then it will only be a matter of a week or so before I get them in flower. I ran the cobra lips once before, 3 runs ago and got a nice yeild from them and I've still got a little bit of it. It got a few months of cure on it now and isn't half bad so I'm glad I kept the mom around. Not too long after flipping the cobra lips I'll be taking cuts of the 3 blue dot X Irene that I've got going from seed and I'm looking forward to seeing what I've got there when I flower them.

I'm not sure if we have any Pink Floyd fans here but I just found out I'm going to see Roger Waters at the basketball arena in Milwaukee in August. even though he is getting up there the music and light show are still excellent so I'm stoked!

@pop_rocks.
I think it's been a couple years since I made any batches of sausage so it's high time. I don't have a lot of freezer space so I will have to make just a few pounds but that's fine. I will have to find my notes and recipes that I have in a spiral notebook, I haven't seen that for a bit. And since I'm makeing sausage I better make some sauce and pasta as well. I will get some pics of the process.
The high cost of housing and everything else in the SF Bay Area was a big factor in our moving back to wisco in 03 or 04. Even then gas was like 4 bucks a gallon, we would come home to visit and gas would be half as much. It seemed like every little thing was just way more than in the rest of the country from meat to cheese to the super high cost of car insurance. But the salary is higher and might make up for most of the discrepancy, except housing cost which was just excessive. So I know how you feel bud, at least kind of.
Are you going back to the desert in February for your camping trip?
I want to get back to the southwest and see some more of the desert some day.
Just 3 days untill game time!

@Sunshineinabag.
I showed my wife some pics of those Carolina plot hounds and she really started researching them. She was amazed, as I, at how much resemblance there is with Eggo. Thanks again for speaking up and letting us know about them.
I'm glad you enjoy this thread and thank you for the kind words! We like to keep it positive here amd try to share what we've found works for us, whether in our grows or in the kitchen or on the mountain bike trail. Feel free to bring up whatever you like here and post up pics of your plants, food and whatever else if you like.
It always makes me happy to hear that someone enjoys the thread!

what lights are you running wiht right now?
ive vegged and flowered under almost every light you can imagine
some give better results than others but there is always something special abotu your own home grown smoke

im a big fan of r.waters and know all about the pros and cons of hitchhiking
its great m usic that never gets old
so it loosk like we are also adding a buffalo chicken dip to the menu for the big game on sunday
i first had it at this pot luck at work and was blown away but how good it was
its basically cream cheese, shredded chicken and red hot sauce topped with more cheese and baked
it was so good i brought some of the left overs home and i ende up rolling it in a tortilla and making wraps out of it
yuo are spot on about everything being stupid expensive here in california
it used to work out because the schools and stuff wasnt so bad, but it just feels like the state is totally slipping
im pretty much settles in so im not so much worried about myself, but i can see how its almost impossible for some new to the state to come here and make a good life for themselves
we will alwasy own property here in california but i dont know if this is the place i would like to spend the rest of my life; especially when i see how nice it is in other parts of the country
i think we are head out to a plce norht of here in riverside this time
we were looking at some places in the mountains, but at this time of year there is a chance there might be snow at some of the higher elevations
/i have cold weather gear but it still means we will be camping in the cold
the spot we were looking at is close to a lake called silver lake (i think, will have to dbl check) and it looks rad
there is a nice lake you can boat and swim in plus a lot of open area around the camp sites for hiking
hope you are having a great week brother and are heading towards an awesome weekend!

Good afternoon pop_rocks.
You are so right about great music never getting old. Pink Floyd made some of the best music ever and it has always had a positive effect on me. My parients had Wish You Were Here and Dark Side of the Moon on vinyl and as soon as I was old enough to be able to put the albums on and push the right buttons on the stereo I was listening to that great music. I have such fond memories of those and other albums from my childhood.
I believe I remember you mentioning that buffalo chicken dip when you had it at work. It sounds really delicious and easy to make. I love things I can make in advance like that and just pop in the oven and enjoy. I get these big packs of boneless and skinless chicken thighs at Costco that I bet would work perfect for that.
When we were in Utah last October we met a lot of people who were from California who moved to Utah to retire. Taxes, property, food and everything else, except booze, are way cheaper. There is also a lot less crime and crowding so you can always find a place to park at the grocery store and stuff like that. And the weather seemed pretty nice too!
The camping spot you are going to sounds great. I miss boating this time of year, and can't wait until spring and summer to get our pontoon boat back in the water. I know a few people that camp in the snow and you need some pretty special gear to be comfortable. I think your making a great choice to stay where it's going to be warm.
Let's finish off this week on a high note and bring on super bowl Sunday brother!

Hello Jungle Tribe
Fiddy Im jealous of your camping trip I would love to be camping down south but not healthy enough this year. Also the girls are on day 45 and making me stay on the ridge anyway. The LBLxskunk by goji is yellowing out nice she is well done by 56 days I named this cut Vicie and this is my best effort so far she's a K and Mg lover. I cut out the fish hydrolysate after week 2 and only gave pk boosters and microbe teas. The N in the fish is released for longer than the P and K and I was having a lockout from all that N buildup I think.
In the wide shots the front right is a pineapple express getting the same feeds and also my best effort on her too.
All around the edge is the 818 sour OG. The far back left in the 12 gal pot is my LBLxBSskunk old mother cut I got as a glg freebie.

oh man rhode, your garden is looking great!
you are right and those look like some nice healthy plants
how aggressively did you top them? they have nice structure and look really tight and compact

yeah i remember mentioning it when i tried it at work and im excited about us making our own
you are right about being able to do a lot of the prep before hand and i might make the dish tomorrow and then finish it in the oven on sunday
we are also going to make the candy tomorrow, maybe even a double batch
i will be sure to get some pics
thats so cool your parents listened to the good stuff when you were a kid
i was raised on shit kickin hillbilly music mostly
i rember the first time i saw a pink flody album cover when i was a kid and it kind of freaked me out; but as a teen i was very much a hippy and grew to love it
yeah we are probably getting a big pack of bonless/skinless thighs and making our shredded chicken out of that
i cant wait to get out and camp again
i scoped it out and even went to google maps so i could get a sat image of the spot; it looks like a fun spot to camp from what i could tell at and im looking foreward to it
we are picking up the boy from school in riverside and then heading out to the camp grounds the last friday of febuary
hope you all are having a great week and your weekend is kicking off on the right foot
cant wait for the big game on sunday

Thanks Pop
I grew them up to 18" and cut them all off even removing 4-6 inches of the top. Then I lollipopped up leaving only a few limbs. I think the ones where I only left 4 are the best leaving 6 or 8 restricts the air and light penetration on these strains and the buds are lesser size and density. I let them recover for a couple weeks before going to 12-12. I got sick during the recovery and didn't get to feed as much fish and gypsum slurry as I would have liked getting ready for the stretch but who's ever totally satisfied?
This is also my first run taking Packerfan's advice and pulling all the shade leaves above bud sites. I think it really helps these strains make nicer buds.
Thanks @ packerfan :tiphat::tiphat:

Your welcome Rodehazard, it's against common orthodoxy to remove leaves. I have been of the mindset that we are growing buds, not leaf. I am glad it's working well for you. Ironically I will be stripping my girls tonight. I used to be scared to take to much, I had a kid helping me when I ran the 4k stadium. I was focused on the plants I was working on, I noticed he stripped them completely. In the end his side produced bigger buds.

Your plants are looking really nice. Sorry to hear you have been sick. My house is fighting a cold right now. Gotta love kids, they bring the germs home to share.

Pop Rocks, Fiddynuts, hope you guys are having a great superbowl weekend. I am going to smoke the ribeye roast for the game. Can't wait, I am rooting for the Chiefs. Mahomes is quite the qb even if he looks 16. Lol. I picked up some awesome wedding crashers that is awesome, the farmers market is pretty cool, great bud, and now they have shrooms and DMT. Gonna have to get back to moving the shrooms again.

there are a few bugs going around and one of the worse seemd to be this cough that you just cant shake
ive had friend who have had it for over a month and he ended up having to take antibiotics to get rid of it
smoked ribeye sounds like a great game plan!
mahomes is an amazing qb and i like the way he plays

The wedding crashers is wedding cake x purple punch. I usually stick with the OG's. In fact the guy I deal with is an og specialist. Lol. The crashers is probably a 50-50 hybrid. I got cuts rooted of the lemon og, if you want to take a crack at them just let me know. I got you covered like a blanket. I would be wary of cuts from the market, their are guys selling cuts, but not the people I deal with. I may inquire, I am kinda schetched about cuts.

I was a little surprised at your Cali sucks rant. You sound like me. I can't get out of this hole fast enough. Don't get me wrong I love my local mountains, and the deserts ( in fall, and winter), but that's about it. Half the places I like to fish are contaminated with red algae, or are now closed to the public ( idiots moving boulders undermining a dam). Wtf

i think we both grew up here in california and have good memories of how it used to be
but this isnt the state i grew up in and san diego is going down hill
dude, we are still paying over 3$ a gallon for gas and its not even spring time yet
and dont get me going abuot my electric bill
its not like im going anywhere soon, but i just wish things would turn around for the better for the state

Greetings friends.

I hope everyone had a great super bowl weekend!
I've been fighting off a cold and I can see there has been some great discussion here while I was gone.

@Rodehazrd. I'm sorry to hear that you are still not feeling 100% and that is getting in the way of your usual spring camping trip. I know you look forward to that trip and its always nice to get away. I also know what it's like to have to stick around home to care for plants.
The wife and I arnt going down to Alabama for Mardi Gras this year either. We might try to go down in fall if we can find time.
Your plants are looking great! It looks like the defoliation is working wonders for you. Also your lollypoping looks aggressive and shows me how much more I could be taking off of my plants. I'm going to try to be more aggressive in the future, after this last round I got a lot of small bottom buds that were a lot of work to trim up like pop_rocks said and I don't have time for that shit.
I had really good luck with the GLG freebie LBL crosses and I'm going to look into ordering some more next time I get seeds.

@pop_rocks. How did your buffalo chicken dip and candy turn out brother? Did you enjoy the game?
We stayed pretty busy with the sausage making untill about an hour before the game but I still got sleepy in the second half. We made 3 test batches of Italians with slightly diffrent amounts of seasoning before deciding that we had a winner.
My parients had pretty good taste in music but my moms sister and her first husband were disc jockeys at a local rock radio station when I was a kid and they had all the best albums. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of them sitting around getting high and we would all listen to music. Ahh the good old days.
Your camping spot sounds great and I hope you have the time of your life buddy.

@Packerfan. How did your ribeye turn out brother? I'm sure it turned out great! That farmers market sounds great. Taking shrooms on a monthly basis has been great for me. I feel like I think more clearly and have a better attitude about life. I had a friend who always said that taking psychedelics are like cleaning your brain. How's the DMT out there? I've been hearing a lot about it and might like to give it a try sometime. A short but intense trip might be just what the doctor ordered sometimes.

Hey Fiddynuts,

The ribeye was fantastic. I am not a fan of prime rib, so I wasn't sure how it was going to be. I cut the ribs off for the kids, and sliced up the rest for sandwiches. I haven't tried DMT. I don't know if I want to go that far. Shrooms definitely help the out look. The farmers market is cool, but it is in the hood. I had a crip/blood fued going on 10 feet away, as I waited to get in yesterday. I was in and out quick to avoid any stupidity.

So, I finally got some mephisto autos planted. I got double grape, and 3 bears of, I ordered 7 of each and got 3 extras, and 10 freebies. Definitely looking forward to seeing what all the hype is about. I ran some fastbuds autos years ago, they were decent, hoping for better from mephisto.

Hope everyone is having a great week.

cant wait to hear how your autos turn out p'fan
ive had mixed results growing autos but it seems that when you find a good breeder they are not that bad at all
plus you can run them in a veg tent along side your mothers/ vegging plants to get an additional harvest out of each cycle
that sucks that the farmers market is in a sketchy part of town and i dont blame you for wanting to get in and out asap

so how did the sausages turn out fiddy?
which batch do you think turned out the best?
we made the candy early on sunday but with all the stuff going on i dident have a chance to really take pics of the candy making process
i did get some pics earlier of the butter making and we still ahve to wrap up the candies we did make so maybe i can snap a few shots of that
but the are really popular so im sure we will be making another batch here in the next few weeks
i thought the game was one of the best super bowls in a while!
two red hot up and coming teams on display; im sure we will be seeing more of both teams in the post season
hope you are having a great week brother and are all set for a fun weekend!

looks like ill be shoveling the old ladies out today! They are my neighbors and bought a house together (imagine the golden girls) they are stubborn and try themselves with the snow, until they finally give up and have me do it. I adofe seeing the spirit that generation had of NEVER QUIT, i see kids with faces buried into devices and know we are sliding away as a society from the important things that kept us human. Think i might be due for a factory reset ...DMT or psyliocybin.......best psychiatrict treatment in the world imho. We got some pretty good ribeyes up here id rec folks try.

Another week just about in the books and I hope it was a good one for all!

@Packerfan. I'm glad that your roast turned out well and all were fed and happy!
Be carful at that farmers market we don't want you to get in the middle of anyone's conflict. When I lived in Oakland we lived in a pretty shitty area and I always found that if I kept to myself and didn't make for an easy target all was always good.
Keep us posted on those autos I'd love to see some auto-fire!

@pop_rocks. I'm glad you enjoyed the game brother! I think your right that we will be seeing more of those teams. I look forward to seeing more of Baltimore as well and I still think they might have been the best team of all of them. But since football don't play best of series we never really know who is best overall just who's best that day.
I was too busy during the sausage making to take pics too. I did gat a couple at the end and I'll post them. The last batch was best we took all the paprika out and added more basil and coriander. We weren't trying to make a bunch for the freezer just working on developing the recipe. I hope you had a great week and let's get the weekend going man!

@Sunshineinabag. I totally remember the golden girls. Good for those ladys to keep their independence. And good for you to lend a helping hand. I've got a neighbor who's husband travels a lot for work and when he's not around and we get a bunch of snow I will go over with my snowblower and get her driveway too. It makes me feel good to do nice things for people. I too love that never quit spirit and I'm worried about the next generations not having much of that. I haven't completely given up on them yet, we have a few kids here at work and while the majority of them are lazy and can't put down the phone there are still a few that have a good head on them and can work hard. I hope that rubbs off on more of them though. I'm with you on psychs being a great way to reset and improve your head! I'm always down for a steak, especially a ribeye.
I hope your well and had a great week brother!

damn, fiddy
those sausages look great man and i am with you on trying different recipes!
yuo can see the difference in them but i bet both of them are so dank
so how do you usually like to eat your sausages?
will you twist that off into links or are you just going to cook/grill the whole sausage at once?
no matter how you cook them you can go wrong
keep kicking ass brother and i know you will find that recipe that hits every mark for you and your bro

glad to see you back sunshine and it looks like you are sure shining bright brother!
thats so cool of you to help the gals out like that and i respect your willingness to step in and handle shit; its hard work brother but not everyone is up to it
the funny thing about the new generation is they are willingly forfeiting their privacy without big brothers demanding it; but hey they cant be held responsible for their actions wither way
i hear you about how alt medicines too man, offering a whole lot more that the mainstream acknowledges
im so ready for a reset
so how are things going in the gro?

Greetings friends!
I hope everyone had a great weekend and the week is off to a good start. I've been getting a bit of a break in the garden the last few days. Last week I transplanted just about all moms and the plants for the next run and I'm enjoy it that few extra days where nothing needs watering or anything. I'm just waiting for the clones in veg to get a little bigger and establish their roots and then I'll put them in the flower tent. Pretty much all my plants look healthy and happy. I did have some boxes fall over into my mom tent and knock one of the moms over. Not sure how she was on her side, must have been less than 24 hours, but she seems fine. I will be taking cuts for the next round in a couple weeks or so.

@pop_rocks. Thanks buddy the sausage is pretty good. The batches are really close we just were playing with the amounts and ingredients a little bit to tweak it. The base recipe I used was pretty close to dialed in but they are just a little bit better the final version. I usually twist them into links but if your having a few people over for dinner its traditional to cook up a roll of it and cut off lengths for each person. Sausage is pretty versatile and I like to cook it in a number of ways. If I'm eating it on a bun I like to grill or fry links and top with fried onion and green pepper. If I'm in the mood for pasta I will fry up some links and then simmer them in my sauce for a few hours which really makes them tender and blends the flavors. You can also par-boil or bake links and finish them in a fry pan. If you get bord with that you can make a "fatty", as they call them in the BBQ scene, where you make a loaf with sausage, usually stuffed with cream cheese or other cheeses, and smoked. A fatty is kind of a BBQ delicacy that the pit masters at BBQ competitions started making to eat while cooking their ribs and brisket. Anyway, the sky is the limit, you just need a little imagination and to get creative.
I hope you had a good weekend and what are you going to do with your Sunday's now that there is no football?

pop_rocks

In my empire of dirt
i had friends who would grill up whole sausages like you mentioned and then slice off the individual pieces
it came out really good because the juices and all that would be inside the casing and the meat was super juicy and full of flavor
my mom always par boils her meats and then finishes it in a pan
the mrs does that with a lot of our sausages too now
just when i thought football was over the xfl comes out of the gate with a bang
i watched a couple of the games last weekend and it tasted just like real football!
you even recognize a few of the names and the action is there so i will be enjoying that when i can
especially now with the mrs preparing for her test;she was up to her ears in the books and study material last sunday
i dident want to bother her too much when she was so deep in concentration so i was on my own, but i also dident want to have too much fun
/i thought about going for a hike but that would have been a little too much
so i rode the bench most of the day and jsut watched football
we talked about it later and she has agreed to take a couple breaks from her studies so we can go for anice walk together but for now my weeeknds are going to be about turning plant into ashes and just letting her handle her business
maybe this weekend i will have to get something going in the kitchen
i have this monday off so i have an extra day to enjoy
as long as the root ball wasnt dissupted too much by the fall the plant should be just fine on its side
it might have bent a little to orient itself towards the light but otherwise i bet it recovers jsut fine
sounds like you have things all set
hope you are having a great week and working your way through those delicious looking sausages my man!

my mom always par boils her meats and then finishes it in a pan
the mrs does that with a lot of our sausages too now
just when i thought football was over the xfl comes out of the gate with a bang
i watched a couple of the games last weekend and it tasted just like real football!
you even recognize a few of the names and the action is there so i will be enjoying that when i can
especially now with the mrs preparing for her test;she was up to her ears in the books and study material last sunday
i dident want to bother her too much when she was so deep in concentration so i was on my own, but i also dident want to have too much fun

Good afternoon pop_rocks.
Your so right about how good sausage is when you cook up the whole roll and slice off pieces. You can get the casings in diffrent sizes and I've seen some that are about the diameter of a little finger and with that you can make personal sized coils of it. Kind of like the size of breakfast sausage links but in small rolls about 6" across. On fact I've seen both breakfast sausage and a type of Asian sausage sold in those little rolls.
Par boiling is a great way to go with sausage because the casing keeps the flavor inside and the water out. You just have to be carful not to over cook it with the boil or the fry and dry it out or split the casing and loose all the juice and flavor. Sous vide is great as well.
I think I remember you mentioning the XFL last year too. That's cool that there is some good action to be seen. I also remember from last year that it's either not on tv here or it's just harder to find. I don't think there are any teams here so maybe that's why.
It's good of you to let your Mrs study. I remember back to the collage days and how important it is to have a nice quiet place to do your reading and look over your notes. There will be more time for hikes after her test. And it sounds like you've got permission to eat, drink, watch football and be merry so you can't beat that!
Both my wife and my dad have birthdays in the next week so I've got a lot of celebrating to do. The wife and I are going out to dinner on Saturday and then to Madison to see LSD (one of my favorite dead tribute bands called Lackin Some Direction). I'm looking forward to that for sure. I've got Monday off too and there is a chance that my bro and I might head up to the UP and go snowmobiling.
Your right that the plant that fell over isn't missing a beat is is doing just fine. It's the first plant that I've ever had tip over so it was just wierd to see it on its side. These weeds are tough to keep down and are damn near indestructible it seems.
I hope your having a great hump day brother!
