Can I flip these bad boys to 12/12?

Hey What's up All, right now I'm running NL(indica dom) in FF Happy Frog Soil,FF trio, the 5 big gals are in 2.5 gallon pots and my 3 seedlings are in 3 gal so 8 in total(was trying for 9 but 1 didn't make it), they aren't femenized which was making me wonder if I should let em keep vegging for another 3 weeks or so to kinda fill things out and wait for sex, or if I wait another week and flip will the stretch take over my 4x4x6.5
PS. Big gals sprouted on 7/23/18
Seedlings sprouted on 8/17/18

Give em the extra 3 weeks mate..:2cents:

You can get inventive and top then tie them down if the do get a bit stretchy.. Keeping your night time temps warm will hinder stretch as well.

Ok thanks, I fimmed about a week ago and am seeing amazing growth thus far, I'm gonna wait until the seedlings catch up a bit before switching to 12/12

Top pic was 8/10/18
Bottom was this morning
So I can only imagine how much bigger these gals will be in 3 more weeks

There are techniques to sex and then return to flower. I dont think any plant is too small to induce sex considering you can take clones from flowering plants up two to three weeks in and put under soft 24 hours of light. Called monster cropping.

There's several awesome threads on 12/12 from seed which is essentially flowering from seed which yields some pretty cool tai stick-esque buds.

Ive never done 12/12 from seed but ive been thinking about it for a while.

Switching to flower is very subjective. You can switch pretty much at any point. The later you are the bigger the plant will be and harvest more, but you will have to wait longer. Depends what's more suited for your situation. My next plants will be pheno only and I prefer to do 2 smaller plants, one after the other, instead of 1 big one in the same time frame. Also, if you have space problems, you might want an earlier 12/12. And as a warning, not ALL strains can have good results with 12/12 from seed.

Bear in mind some indica dom plants hardly stretch at all... the only way to be sure is to keep clones for next run, then if you feel that you flipped em too early this time, you’ll get another shot

That's the lowest leaves it is hitting right? The way it's yellowing between the veins, I feel like early magnesium deficiency. The leaves seem very dark though and waxy, almost like too much nitrogen. Are you phing your water? Magnesium gets locked out in soil below ~6 ph and above ~7 ph.

Sup Agent, yeah I've been trying to get by without ph'ing for a minute(my happy frog is supposed to have a phone buffer) as I've really only been giving water from the tap sat out for at least 24 hrs. I've been using this soil for about a month now and I'm sure it's "buffer" is used up. I put in a half a tap/gallon of Grow Big(too try and not throw things off too much) the other day and so I'm also thinking pH may be a lil off. I backed off the grow big because I noticed a bit of clawing and the leaves did get quite dark after the feed so I'm just using plain water

In 2 days I'm gonna be picking up my pH control kit/ some 5 gal buckets, and my tiger bloom for flower so I'll have the rest of what I need in one shot, I'm gonna give em till about a week or 2 after transplanting this weekend to settle in nice then throw my 600w HPS bulb in there for some good ol 12/12

Yeah if the darkness & clawing came and went together definitely sounds like too much nitrogen. Great job recognizing the plant and backing off. It really comes to reading the plants needs, cause each strain can be picky out specific things. Good luck with the transplant and keep up the pics, everybody loves pics. :tiphat:

What's up guys, well I think I figured out the spotting on the lower leaves. I picked up some big 5 gallon Lowe's styles buckets last night and transplanted 2 of them. Let's just say after a month of being in 2 gallon pots they were looking pretty rootbound so I think I def found the issue. Lights are off Iwill post update w/ pics tonight after I turn them back on and finish my transplants

Final Homes, I'm gonna give them atleast a week to bounce back

G `day GS

If you transplanted to the same medium and didn`t damage the roots the plants shouldn`t miss a beat .

This transplant shock idea is foreign to me ?
Maybe taking seedlings and planting outdoors in the ground . Transplanting in pots I don`t experience it .

Thanks for sharin

EB .

Are you using tap water? Tap water contains chlorine and other bacteria and fungus destroying chemicals that will influence your chems. I use tap water that i set out for three days so the chemicals evaporate.
