seriously... i thought grass had to look like stuff from the magazines. Nice tight compacted crystal looking nugs.... now i don't know...

I just smoked some UGLY looking stuff. It was all dry, thin, leafy, and fluffy. I haven't been this high since I ate 4 hash brownies.

I was sitting down and I just melted into the sofa I couldn't even get up. My whole buddy was tingling. My buddy walked to the bathroom and ended up knocked out by the bathtub.

Holy shit... how could stuff that looks so crappy have such a knockout punch?

This is why eyes and noses should never be used to test weed. Potency and appearance are not related. Some of the best stuff I've had has been brickweed.

i bought some shwag on a carribean cruise, off ship on an island. i couldn't show up for dinner i was locked in my cabin, with racy anxious paranoia from a trippy high. it looked like shwag.

also some of my friends have harsh growing environments with poor ventilation. they like 1000w bulbs and 4in scrubbers, weak. so we have the same strains but theirs may look like crushed straw in a baggie when grown by a stubborn mule. it actually gets me just about as high as a properly grown nugget. the yield suffers but i think the potency to be nearly equal.

Mostly just bad handling practices. Getting bricked up while still a lil wet kills the smell, and gives it that shwag smell, makes it go brown quick too.

I try to tell people this from other places and they don't believe me. That weed will be trash by june july. That exact same bag. The resin glands are broken and will deteriorate very fast, taking the quality of high with it.

BUT- close enough to harvest. nov-feb. The resin is still fresh enough to pack a punch. It surprises people, because it just looks like any other trash brick weed.

Takes a discerning eye to identify good brickweed. Much harder than with high grade.

Same here! I'm still chasing the high I got from this one specific batch of mexican brickweed one time long ago. The stuff was amazing!!! Ugly as you'd expect shwag to look, but the high was fantastic!! And it was just $100-an-ounce SHWAG! :jump:

Sounds like you got a mostly landrace sativa strain from the "fluffy" description. Great high, just not beefed up for bag appeal with indica genes from modern breeding projects.

nah man, looks like some outdoor grown sativa hybrid bagseed...
and yeah, like the saying goes: "you can't judge a book by the cover", same thing applies to weed n hasj...
i mean most of us smoked some brick or wadeva lowgrade looking stuff and had a high much nicer than a lot of homegrown...
and yeah, same goes for the "high end weed" i remember being in amsterdam 2k9 for the first time, bought like 4-5 different strains, which looked good and smelled good, but were nearly unsmokeable cause of residual nutes or not being dry enuff! funny enuff i scored some "hawaaain sativa" as well, which was grown in a greenhouse and had a nice taste, uppedy happy high and no coughy cough cough lool (and yeah compared to the indoor stuff, the hawaaiian stuff looked like shwag indeed)

Looks don't mean a whole lot. Look at how people love purple buds, just because they are purple! . I would be a little worried about weed that knocked some one out and hit their head, It might be laced with pcp or something.

I remember back in high school my friend got some stuff and I remember saying "Heh, where did you get the dead grass?" It looked awful. He just looked at me and said "Let's smoke it." It was some of the most potent stuff I've ever had. Never had anything that looked so horrible that was so great since.

I'm with Duplicate......that looks much better than the stuff i used to get that would be considered low grade weed.The only thing that made it low grade smoke though was the process after it was harvested.If it was such shitty weed than why do i wish i had some right now???

I'm sure some of us remember Thai Sticks from way back in the 70's. So loose and scragily the suppliers would tie it to a stick.

Once off the stick, the weed looked like crap.

But when you smoke a joint...you got high. And I'm not talking the laced Thai either.

Many of those Hawaiian Sativas have their roots in Southeast Asia.

When you are looking to pick up, unless you get to taste it, it is all eye appeal. People want those tight nuggets. Most of the time that makes sense. Once and a while it is the wrong move.

I unfortunately TRIED PCP once it was my choice, I know I could tell if I was ever smoking pot laced with PCP.
Yes some of the best pot I've ever smoked was $150.00 a kilo Mexican Brick weed that looked like shit but F-ED you up. :tiphat:

might get you high but hows the taste? some of us dont smoke to get as high as possible i actually dislike being "too high" sometimes.....i just love the taste of minty lemon og kush....

but i have smoked some outdoor this year that got me much higher than the fancy indoor buds.....

That describes my smoking career. The ugly brown, crusty, dry weed, has gotten me the highest. The photogenic, porno weed, looked great, tasted great, but didn't have the knock out puch of the fugly weed.
