@jamie it depense a litle on the genetics. Indica.s dominant do it bit faster but still a 10 week normal flowering strain will take 13 to 14 straight from seed at 12.12 also grow bit wilder top formation.

I was actually a bit concerned that there might be little point to trying the 12/12 technique but it sounds like they will get the opportunity to grow into something decent after all... I had visions of 5g budsicles on 15 cm sticks

They've completely taken over the first layer and are filling up the second pretty quickly
