Sap globule forming on seeds! Must see!

This plant has been fun watching it grow. It has expressed numerous uncommon traits such as variegation and seeds that grow "naked" or without a calyx. Now it has sap forming on the butt end of one of the naked seeds! While you may have heard or seen sap secretions in certain varietals or under certain conditions. The sap is comprised of water and plant sugars. Why if forms is not fully understood. I have never seen this before until now. How did the seed excrete sap? How did the seeds become naked? Are the traits inheritable? Will we ever know? Probably not. :comfort:

this looks different
also, why would it be isolated to this one seed?
the plant looks clean and well grown

ive seen it as well, ants will colonize the aphids outdoors to harvest the sap
its just weird that its only this one part of the plant

I have not seen and I've been looking for pests. The only insect during this grow has been fungus gnats. Their population has been keep down with diatomaceous earth, and Mosquito Bits. Both were applied to the topsoil and slightly mixed in. The sap is coming directly out of the end of a seed. The seed is still mostly green and immature. The area of the seed where the pistils are. You might actually be able to see the dried pistils still attached to the seed that has the sap glob. I've looked over the other plants in the room and can't spot any other sap. Mind you the other plants are sister plants but do not display the same characteristics. (Brown spots are mature seeds)

There is a cannabis strain that has this trait, Pinkman Goo

I don't think it is gutation, the plant gutates pure water and this liquid do not seem that

Could be guttation

Guttitation isn't a mystery symptom, we know what factors cause that. Could be foreign carbs (molasses) the plant is rejecting, since no one grows a plant that makes its own anymore.

All seeds are naked once they shed the bract. Dont ask any canna seed breeder, they have never taken a seed crop to maturity from what i can tell.

Perhaps Pinkman Goo is very sensitive to foreign carbs.. Who knows, cant find a grower with "guttitation" who doesn't feed foreign generic sugars to their unique strains so o guess there's no data lol.

For all those freaky freaks who want to know what it tastes like. I will be conducting a taste test later today, possibly tomorrow! Also regarding that all cannabis strains produce seeds that are fully visible once they shed the bract. These seeds were visible from almost 5 days after pollination. Fully visible with no calyx/bract or portion of such holding the tiny green dots. Now not all of the seeds had the calyx recede away but over 50% upon fertilization. There are seeds on the plant still enveloped inside a calyx and others that are not, but they've been this way while immature.

Also this plant did receive one feeding of a molasses based fertilizer 40 days prior.

I saw few times on some plants. Tried to burn it. Combustion take place, it does not burn well, there is some water in it probably. It leave a black ash. Could be a mix of water, oils/waxes and sugars.

Here are a couple. The last ones I saw and they were on a seeded FPOG x Wed.Cake x Gelato.

This is another one on a different plant, it was a BlueFire and it was already dry and ready to trim

If it’s from guttation it’s from over feeding plain and simple, so it’s excess plant sugars etc doesn’t taste good and it’s not gonna get you high
