This deserves it's own thread. Not a lot of new growers know about digital ballast inrush. So they buy some lights and figure out the total amps, what the circuit can handle. To find that the breaker trips at start up, or melts their $20 timer.
I'm mostly curious about ceramic, hps and mh. Both growers choice and hortilux, claim soft start tech. Neither say much about their soft start tech.
Lot's of digital timers say not to use digital ballasts on their timers. So what about soft start ballasts? What exactly are the start up amps with soft start ballasts?
