They won't really go after heroin more than usual because the CIA makes too much money from Afghan heroin.

I think they will probably go after recreational weed and interstate traffickers. That's pretty much what they said they would do as far as going after marijuana.

Well, The administration has submitted its' first public wishlist for a budget. I find it interesting the items to be cut, and in the background Sessions has already issued a memo directing the Bureau of Prisons to reverse President Obama's memo of contracting with private prisons and start immediately increasing capacity with the private prisons. He supports mandatory sentencing so that they can meet the contract occupancy rates! I suggest all the supporters take an inventory of financial, physical assets, health insurance costs, and tax liability and write it down. If we are still here in a year compare now and then. We will not know the amount of billions the billionaires steal because we don't have a baseline. However, he is a businessman and the billionaire business men and women will run the country like a business that will take care of its' citizens. Regards,

Sometimes folks speak of medical being safe because this administration believes in state’s rights. Somehow this reasoning avoids the current stated intent to stomp all over state’s rights by going after rec.

The following quotes from Sessions really sum it up for me. (And no, I don’t think Trump is going to restrain this guy.)

“Our nation needs to say clearly once again that using drugs will destroy your life.” (context: marijuana).

Jeff Sessions also told reporters on Monday he thinks “medical marijuana has been hyped, maybe too much.”

So we wait.

I think sessions dumb remarks are an indication that his leash won't allow him to go after weed on a scale he would like so he's barking to put fear out there. Besides sessions dumb remarks we have Spicer clearly unprepared for comment. Not much to go off of. I'm still inclined to beleive what trump has said about the matter, he's a populist and the popular opinion is leave weed alone.

I hope at his next news conference a reporter asks him directly instead of all this sideshow bull. Let's get a direct answer straight from the source that wasn't made during the campaign.

Sessions, Trump & the rest of the crew aren't stupid at all. They just pander to fearful & poorly educated people to advance an authoritarian power agenda. They'll def advance that in front of a LEO audience. All they really care about is being large & in charge so no amount of insincerity is beneath them.

A cannabis crackdown won't sell nearly as easily to the general public in light of successful legalization in CO & WA. They've also been advancing a false narrative wrt violent crime meaning folks will see cannabis enforcement as squandering resources best applied elsewhere. I figure that's true even for the Trump faithful.

It's hard to tell the difference between stupid and blindly ideologically block headed. Trump and crew may not be technically stupid but none seem persuaded by logic and common sense. In a very short time they have done many apparently stupid things.

I guess naive of me to think that would change certain ilks minds, but then again when was the last time we were led by a citizen president and not a career politican? But I don't expect that to change the same ilks minds either. I suspect nothing will, not even if he forwarded the cannabis movement in some way.

The Democrats and alot dems in my opinion are making huge mistakes. The political people are nothing more than obstructionist at this point, and they're wide ranging in their veiws, from centrists to progressives to now democratic socialist. Alot of citizens who lean that way have devolved into not the nicest folks either, rude, name calling, labeling jerks. All of this is strengthening trump. So by all means carry on and don't bother to join in and have say in steering the ship, just bitch away.

At the same time the country elected obama, the state's elected the tea party to keep him in check. This is life in a representative republic. On certain issues I do wish we could have nation wide reforendums, not so sure that could heal the division though either.

The media has driven us apart in so many ways. Just look at the back and forth in these threads here. Everything is so sensationalized these days. Look at breitbart to occupy democrats, sensationalized bull playing to people's predisposed opinions, CNN to fox, all prepackaged bull playing to your opinion with no middle ground.

Sure, as a libertarian I feel that all drugs should be legal. A limited federal government that is fiscally responsible is far more important to me. I heard an audio clip recorded in the past week, four younger news people were speaking of manipulated media. One of them mentioned Lenni Riefenstahl , but it was oblivious they thought they were speaking of a male. No one seemed to notice.
