I have a 600w in a tent that size and it's works out nicely.
Some people use 1000w. But to do that you better have
a really good air exchange or it will get too hot fast.
9 plants is a good number if you use small to medium sized pots.
configuration = 3 X 3
or go with 4 plants if you plan on using large pots.
configuration = 2 X 2

Control the environmentals and count doesn't matter I believe.
The more plants the more work.
Strain tendencies are a big factor in how many I fit in a 3x3x6.
I usually flower out no more than 4 1-2 gal pots in that space with defanning & training crucial to success.
