No problem guys.... I just heard on the TV news. The Coronavirus is all caused by flavored e-cig juice. The Chinese politicians are all meeting today to ban flavored e-cig juice.

Thank god we found the cause in time.

A Federal Ban on Making Lethal Viruses Is Lifted
Dec. 19, 2017

Federal officials on Tuesday ended a moratorium imposed three years ago on funding research that alters germs to make them more lethal.

Such work can now proceed, said Dr. Francis S. Collins, the head of the National Institutes of Health, but only if a scientific panel decides that the benefits justify the risks.

Some scientists are eager to pursue these studies because they may show, for example, how a bird flu could mutate to more easily infect humans, or could yield clues to making a better vaccine.

Critics say these researchers risk creating a monster germ that could escape the lab and seed a pandemic. ...............

Michael T. Osterholm, director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, said he believed some laboratories could do such work safely, but wanted restrictions on what they could publish.

“If someone finds a way to make the Ebola virus more dangerous, I don’t believe that should be available to anybody off the street who could use it for nefarious purposes,” he said.

“Physicists long ago learned to distinguish between what can be publicly available and what’s classified,” he added, referring to nuclear weapons research. “We want to keep some of this stuff on a need-to-know basis.”

This just in 0.00001% of China's population infected.

You'd think all your noses would get sore from being dragged around by them all the time.

Is that the first symptom?

IMO, even one person knowing how is too many.

Computer simulations only. Leave the supervirus creation to the mad scientists in the movies please.

Chris Martenson has the 2 best summaries I've seen on it.

His background ... molecular biologist specializing in troublesome viruses, bacteria, etc.

Peak Prosperity is sort of the Cadillac version of Doom ology. He actually gets people to pay to discuss doom. Pretty good salesman.

Coronavirus wouldn't be a problem except for one thing - no resilience in the World Economy. the Federal Reserve is currently in Bail-out mode (like in 2009, during a recession). Except officially the US economy is not in a recession. Yet the Fed has (digitally) printed $3876 Billion since August 28, 2019.

Because the entire world is so deeply in debt, China can't afford to have the boat rocked by a serious virus pandemic.

It wouldn't be a big deal except for the way the world economy is run. Just in Time merchandising etc.

That shows why the Mormons etc. are smart - they store a year's supply of food so that what happens in China doesn't affect them.

When the earthquake came in 1989 it really wasn't a big earthquake. But it totally fvcked up the SF Bay Area for about 6 months. Everybody's commute was longer, etc.

Little things started happening. e.g. truck hauling re-bar on the 92 bridge lost a piece. which impaled a woman driver by bouncing off the road into the bottom of her car. Causing a co-worker to be stuck in the resulting traffic jam.

Things like that happen all the time. But they happen more often when people are stretched thin.

And the world economy is stretched very fvcking thin.

This Lomatium stuff has in the past helped with flu pandemics. I have been taking it for several years and haven't gotten the flu since. The throat spray isgreat also. Read the history...

I was supposed to travel to Thailand in 11 days. I just cancelled my flight. I rather be safe than sorry. I travel the middle eastern route (transfer Doha) but there are already 4 reported cases in Bangkok. And that city is not the cleanest.. This one could be scary with its long incubation period and being airborne.

Drugmakers are hustling to make a vaccine to counter the rapidly-spreading respiratory virus that has sickened at least 830 in China and two people in the United States.

The National Institutes of Health has partnered with a Boston-area company, Moderna, on a vaccine targeting the novel coronavirus. A Pennsylvania biotechnology company, Inovio, also secured a $9 million grant from Norway-based Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations to develop a vaccine. The company already is developing a vaccine for Middle East respiratory syndrome, or MERS, another type of coronavirus.

Officials with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases say they can quickly develop a vaccine because Chinese scientists rapidly sequenced the virus’s genome.

Honestly, unless you're flying, the flu is probably a bigger concern for the average person than the coronavirus.

I ordered a vape from China. When it arrives, shall I wipe it in American Moose shit (or some other ritual) before putting it in my mouth?

Perhaps just adding a lime will help. Worked in Mexico.
