Hi there DS.
No Kalamata strain for now.I will later on,at some point
I am going with two strains very potent/trippier,almost impossible to find, but they do exist!
They both come from our mountainous regions. One from central Greece(2 seeds),and with one seed/strain from North East of Greece
I hope they pop so I can share them with you
:)

My first ever grow started last year with two Kalamata seeds, found in a bud very kindly given to me by a old man.Planted the seeds.
Got two phenotypes, one resembling the Red kalamata strain, and,the second one, more the green/central greek strain(didn't finish them proper, newbie, still got the hint of that famous high). The minute I posted a bud, had a SouthAfrican react instantly by posting."it looks like Durban poison"
A year after, it makes sense, that a southern greek strain, has an African, very ancient, connection. It's more a grow for me to unravel my country's beautiful potent strains, and, might be lucky to come across a pheno that has an eastern, asian connection. There must be one around. Both North Africa and Asia have been our ancient trading routes.
The few remaining photos of my kalamata red pheno, from last year

And a very important characteristic of the greek sativas is that they are EARLY(not very early)...in mediterranean climates start flowering around end of July start of August and they finish in the end of October start mid November....
A general rule....
And short flowering for pure sativas....
In general around 12+ - weeks!....

Hi Dogstar there!:)

Hi DS and thanks.
DS one day you will get to try Greek Sativas.
Extra extra virgin Olive oil from Central Greece(they had a better crop/quality of olive oil 4/5 years back!),toxicity level 0.2%,infused with leaves collected/dried.Matured for nearly 9 months.
Put that on your greek salad, followed by one of our landraces,I think" Pandora's box" is Greek as well

lat. "Timeo Danaos et dona ferentes"... ;D LOL

I just joking a bit... from what i sees i love Greek products..,semi-dryed Kalamata
olives going great with Feta cheese.. Mediteranian food is best and most healthy
for body.. and if there is some nice sea fish on barbecue splashed by domestic
garlic and olive oil then mine heart is full of joy...

Kind regards Red

Very interesting thread, I've grown up next door to 2 greek families. Very welcoming and joyous people. Constantina will always be like a yaya (grandma) to me :)

Good luck with your little ones!
