If the DEA really wanted to help they would make it totally legal.

It's obvious they see the error of their ways now. :)

Can’t do that bud. Gotta fund illegitimate wars and terrorists somehow.

so why don't they nationalize the industry & use all of the profits (legal and otherwise) instead of wasting them on 1 %ers salaries etc? a win-win situation for them...:tiphat:

No argument here. Other than the fact pot is more of a side job for them... we all know their cash cow is the opiates

So they are allowing the amount of bud grown for research to go from 1,000 pounds to 5,400 pounds next year, holy shit talk about reform eh? They finally think that maybe, just maybe, cannabis has been helping people and could be a tool for fighting an actual drug epidemic instead of a bullshit war. I'll be very happy once the war on weed is over but I'll be banging my head into the wall while having to listen to the DEAs latest revelations the whole way there.

I see an endless string of, "No shit. I could have told you that years ago." in your future.

I feel your pain. As it becomes more mainstream, I hear friends and friends of friends talk about it that never talked about it before. It's an endless line of usually correct information. Which is surprising. I usually just smile and nod in agreement, adding an occasional "I did not know that" as I try to maintain a babe in the woods vibe for cover in that world.

Lately it seems that's how I out to myself to people as a pothead though as I gently correct any wrong info they try to spew forth. Which usually leads to a session with at least one newbie.

Only two people know I grow though.

‘Only 2 people’ works best that way. Yeah it’s really hard not to drop the sarcasm hearing people FINALLY come around. The reefer madness generation is finally understanding rape and pillage (other than of the pantry) just doesn’t happen. Now if we could deprogram the rest of the ‘fear porn’ they gobble up in masses we may see positive change

I know what you mean when you hear people talk about it in positive light for the first time. For years I have listened to my family regurgitate all the reefer madness bullshit and plenty of "you know your dad use to smoke dope and look what it did to him" bullshit. Then Sanjay Gupta was on that documentary WEED and talked about how he did a 360 on his viewpoints over MJ and saw that it now has huge medical potential. All of a sudden my grandmother who was previously anti-weed was talking about how great medical MJ was. That's great and all that people are becoming enlightened but they only think that because someone else told them they should. You're allowed to think for yourself you know...

i have met so many "older" (my age and up) folks in the last few years (church-goers) that tell me "i wish they would go ahead & legalize it. i/my sister/brother/aunt/uncle/parents etc used to/still smoke it for sleep/arthritis pain relief etc." got a little old lady near here grows it outdoor in summer, greenhouse rest of year. she turns it all into butter & gives it or the cookies she makes to local elderly/chemo patients. this is in the heart of the "Bible Belt" here...the war has been won, it is time for the other side to give it up before (if they are not already) they open themselves up to legal action...

Talk about a sweet little old lady. I would love to have her for a grandma. I wish I could say that the war is won and is over but too many people are either behind bars or are still being sent there over a plant. I'm stating the all so obvious but the law is insane. No one should ever fear for their own or friends/families well being over wanting relief from whatever ails them.

A while back a friend of mine got a knock on the door from a cop and made the mistake of answering it and letting the cop in. The cop was asking him about an elderly lady who had apparently fallen in the apartment above him and was trying to figure out if domestic abuse was possibly the cause. While talking to him the cop noticed a bong beside the couch and decided to stick him with a charge. Fucking prick. One thing prohibition has reinforced in my mind, even if it ends, is never trust the po po. They work for the law not you. My buddies charge was reduced to disorderly conduct because of the nature of the incident. A bit ironic considering he was a possible witness talking to a cop about a suspected elderly abuse case.

Worst part being even after retirement, VERY few cross that thin blue line. Almost need brainwashed into believing in the system they ‘protect’
