How bout a little Willie

Willie Nelson

Always On My Mind

Maybe I didn't love you
Quite as often as I could have
Maybe I didn't treat you
Quite as good as I should have
If I made you feel second best
Girl I'm sorry I was blind

You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind

Maybe I didn't hold you
All those lonely, lonely times
And I guess I never told you
I'm so happy that you're mine
Little things I should have said and done
I just never took the time

You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind

Tell me, tell me that your
Sweet love hasn't died
And give me
Give me one more chance
To keep you satisfied
satisfied

Little things I should have
Said and done
I just never took the time

You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind....

In use this one when I am in the dog house, it always gets the the little woman

Here is another killer one

Since I've Been Loving You
(Jones/Page/Plant)

Working from seven to eleven every night,
It really makes life a drag, I don't think that's right.
I've really, really been the best of fools, I did what I could.
'Cause I love you, baby, How I love you, darling, How I love you, baby,
How I love you, girl, little girl.
But baby, Since I've Been Loving You. I'm about to lose my worried mind, oh, yeah.

Everybody trying to tell me that you didn't mean me no good.
I've been trying, Lord, let me tell you, Let me tell you I really did the best I could.
I've been working from seven to eleven every night, I said It kinda makes my life a drag.
Lord, that ain't right...
Since I've Been Loving You, I'm about to lose my worried mind.

Said I've been crying, my tears they fell like rain,
Don't you hear, Don't you hear them falling,
Don't you hear, Don't you hear them falling.

Do you remember mama, when I knocked upon your door?
I said you had the nerve to tell me you didn't want me no more, yeah
I open my front door, hear my back door slam,
You must have one of them new fangled back door man.

I've been working from seven, seven, seven, to eleven every night, It kinda makes my life a drag...
Baby, Since I've Been Loving You, I'm about to lose, I'm about lose to my worried mind.

Damn, I got a chill

Extreme
More than words

Saying i love you, is not the words i want to hear from you.
Its not that i want you, not 2 say it, but if you only knew,
How easy, it would to shoew me how u feel.

chorus
More than words- is all u have to do 2 make it real,
then u wouldnt have to say, that u love me
Coz id already know

What would you do, if my heart was torn in two,
More than words to show you feel, that ur love for me is real.
What would you say, if took those words away,
then you couldnt make new, just by saying i love you.

Now that ive tried to, talk to you and make you understand,
all you have to do, is close your eyes, and just reach out ur hand,
and touch me, hold me close DONT EVER LET MEE-EE-EE GO,

Do You Right

Passin' the kind buds.
Kickin' back in the sand in the sun.
To be alive is lovin'.
Where the shore meets the sea.
Man I'm hummin' I'm hummin

[Chorus]
I'm free as I stare at the sea.
And I'm not comin' down.
The world is yours once you have found.
The good is to share.
Which is elsewhere.

The beauty of green is where light is now broken by what it touches.
Remembering what you once had told me hit home.
And hasn't it always been so.

[Chorus]
I'm free as I stare at the sea.
And I'm not comin' down.
The world is yours once you have found.
The good is to share.
Which is elsewhere.

Like I said before I'll say it once more.
Knew you would make me feel so good.
Wanna do you right.
Can't get enough.
This is the stuff
life's about and it trips me out.
Wanna do you right.

Bright mornings, days when I want so much.
I want nothing, just this life and no more.
I'll come within this world
there's only one for me.
She's waiting, I'll soon come.

[Chorus]
Free from the burn the burn that helps spite and
Free from the burn now baby dib your price
No buzz hack, no buzz hack
No buzz hack, no buzz hack
Swing the thing you bring check it out
How could you be so good to me
How could you be so good to me I want to be worth I want to be worth
Buzz hack hack hack buzz
Yea swing to the thing you bring
Check it out
Like I said before I'll say it once more.
Knew you would make me feel so good.
Wanna do you right.
Can't get enough.
This is the stuff life's about and it trips me out.
Wanna do you right.

I like the version Sublime does of this song.

Smoke Two Joints
(C. Kay & M. Kay)

I smoke two joints in the morning, I smoke two joints at night
I smoke two joints in the afternoon, it makes me feel alright
I smoke two joints in time of peace, and two in time of war
I smoke two joints before I smoke two joints, and then I smoke two more

Oh, my daddy he once told me, "Son, you be hard working man"
My mama she once told me, "Son, you do the best you can"
But then one day I met a man who came to me and said
"Hard work good and hard work fine, but first take care of head"

So now,
I smoke two joints when I get up, in the car I smoke two joints
I smoke two joints when I play video game
And at every ten thousand points
(I smoke two joints)
I smoke two joints in time of peace, and two in time of war
I smoke two joints before I smoke two joints, and then I smoke two more

Oh, my daddy he once told me, "Son, you be hard working man"
My mama she once told me, "Son, you do the best you can"
But then one day I met a man who came to me and said
"Hard work good and hard work fine, but first take care of head"

I smoke two joints in the morning, I smoke two joints at night
I smoke two joints in the afternoon, it makes me feel alright
I smoke two joints in time of peace, and two in time of war
I smoke two joints before I smoke two joints, and then I smoke two more

SMOKE TWO JOINTS
That's what I do
SMOKE TWO JOINTS
Come and smoke two joints with me in the morning
SMOKE TWO JOINTS
Come and smoke two joints with me in the afternoon, yeah
SMOKE TWO JOINTS
Hey, would you rather smoke two joints or would you rather do your homework?
SMOKE TWO JOINTS
I knew you were going to say that!
SMOKE TWO JOINTS
SMOKE TWO JOINTS
That's what I do!
SMOKE TWO JOINTS

Nice......

Yeah 311 has some kick ass lyrics, if you can understand them!

Essay always talks some alien conspiracy with futuristic astrology and it blows my mind!

Whats those lyrics from 311 "F the bullshit its time to throw down" Where he is rapping about the captain of Exxon Valdez and how he wrecked the oil tanker and should be held responsible for all the destruction and environmental waste.

"This goes out to all the birds that drown, fuck the bullshit it's time to throw down!"

Hey Tex,

Life by the Drop - Stevie Ray Vaughn

Hello there, my old friend,
not so long ago it was 'till the end
We played outside in the pouring rain,
on our way up the road we started over again

You're livin' a dream, wo you on top
My mind is achin', Lord it won't stop
That's how it happens, livin' life by the drop

Up and down that road in our worn out shoes,
talkin' 'bout good things and signin' the blues
You went your way, I stayed behind
We both knew it was just a matter of time

You're livin' a dream, wo you on top
My mind is achin', Lord it won't stop
That's how it happens, livin' life by the drop

No wasted time, we're alive today
Churnin' up the past, there's no easier way
Time's been between us, a means to an end
God it's good to be here walkin' together my friend

You're livin' a dream, wo you on top
My mind is achin', Lord it won't stop
That's how it happens, livin' life by the drop
That's how it happens, livin' life by the drop
That's how it happens, livin' life by the drop

any lyric by Bob Dylan is bound to be great....

Classic Dead ones: Once In a While You get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right...

One man gather's what another man spills....

a great song by Railroad Earth:

Oh Lord to See a light
but fail in strength to follow
Sometimes I wonder who I am
Oh Lord to fail in heart
and each day grow more hollow
Sometimes I just don't Wanna Know
But The road that left me here...
Has begun to dissapear...
Sometimes I wonder Where I am

Goes on but A really great song

this one brings a tear to my eye every time i hear it

artist: the recipe
title: daveys jubilee (3 parts)
PART 1
***off to war***
mist is softly risin
pickers strum in jam
ole davey, born of west virginia
on this day died, in vietnam

he gave his life, to save another life
i guess thats why mountaineers are always free
now every year the family gathers on the mountain
to celebrate, daveys jubilee

chorus:
so bring guitars and mountain strings
drums and pipes and bales of hay
but always bring the mountain fiddle
to lead the jam that day...

everyone was friends with davey
they all packed in to hear him play
it was a fiddle that gave him his voice
davey had alot to say

and everyone who played that music
held together like a family
and when the news, hit too damn close to home
the people held on to what they believed
everybody held on to what they believed

chorus:

in the army as a medic
he got to take in the real scene
he was saving us soldiers
but he was saving viet cong
that was his thing

davey said "my brothers in arms everyones in gods family"
"it pretty over here but you should know,
time will steal the mountains away from me"

davey wrote in his last letter, with his love to all forever,
"if i die before i see the brooks and mountains or the trees"
"here's what i need you to do, go and tell my girl darlene"
"get little davey and the family up on the hill
go on celebrate the jubilee"

chorus:
PART 2
***whiskey before breakfast jam***

PART 3
****sorry, i forgot the name of this part****
in the early morning hours of a morgantown night
i knew i wasn't dreaming when she lined me up in her sights
and she said, "you can take me to the mountain"
and in her eyes i could finally see my way home

and though it seems unlikely
that she'd come here for me
the closest thing to magic
that i'd ever seen

when we danced, all the way up to the mountain
and in her eyes i could finally see my way home

such a long way to jubilee
such a lonely day down at jubilee
what will we tell little davey
about his daddy
you and me....

and though it seems unlikely
that she'd come here for me
the closest thing to magic
that i'd ever seen

when we danced, all the way up to the mountain
and in her eyes i could finally see my way home
finally see my way home...
finally see my way home...

Summertime

Summertime, and the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin' and the cotton is high
Oh! Your Daddy's rich and your Ma is good lookin'
So, hush little baby, don't you cry . . .

One of these mornin's you're gonna rise up singin'
Then you'll spread your wings, and you'll take to the sky
But 'till that mornin' there's a nothin' can harm you,
with Daddy and Mammy standin' by . . .

But 'till that mornin' there's a nothin' can harm you,

Crossroads

Let It Grow

Standing at the crossroads
trying to read the signs
To tell me which way I should
go to find the answer
And all the time I know

Plant your love and let it grow.

Let it grow
let it grow

Let it blossom
let it flow

In the sun
the rain
the snow

Love is lovely
let it grow.

Looking for a reason
to check out of my mind

Playing hard to get a
friend that I can count on

When there's nothing left to show

Plant yout love and let it grow.

Let it grow
let it grow

Let it blossom
let it flow

In the sun
the rain
the snow

Love is lovely
let it grow.

Time is getting shorter

there's much for you to do

Only ask and you will
get what you are needing

The rest is up to you

Plant your love and let it grow.

Let it grow
let it grow

Let it blossom
let it flow

In the sun
the rain
the snow

Love is lovely
let it grow.

Let it grow
let it grow

Let it blossom
let it flow

In the sun
the rain
the snow

Love is lovely
let it grow.

Let it grow
let it grow

Let it blossom
let it flow

In the sun
the rain
the snow

Love is lovely
let it grow.

hillbillie i couldnt agree more about bob dylan man

My Bob Dylan fav is from, i think highway 61revisited in 1965?

- How does it feel -

Once upon a time you dressed so fine
You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?

People'd call, say, "Beware doll, you're bound to fall"
You thought they were all kiddin' you

You used to laugh about
Everybody that was hangin' out

Now you don't talk so loud
Now you don't seem so proud

About having to be scrounging....
for your next meal.

How does it feel.....
How does it feel.......
To be without a home....
Like a complete unknown.....
Like a rolling stone?..................

You've gone to the finest school all right, Miss Lonely,
But you know you only used to get...................... juiced in it

And nobody has ever taught you how to live out on the street
And now you find out you're gonna have to get............. used to it

You said you'd never.... compromise
With the mystery tramp, but now you realize

He's not selling any alibis...
As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes...

And say do you want to.... make a deal?

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
A complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

Oh you never turned around, to see the frowns, on the jugglers and the clowns when they all did tricks for you..

You never understood that it ain't no good,
You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you...

You used to ride on the chrome horse with your diplomat...
Who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat.

Ain't it hard when you discover that,
He really wasn't where it's at, after he took from you everything he could steaaaaaaaal....

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

Princess on the steeple and all the pretty people
They're drinkin', thinkin' that they..... got it made

Exchanging all precious gifts and things
But you'd better lift your diamond ring, you'd better pawn it babe.

You used to be .....so amused
At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used,

Go to him now, he calls you, you can't refuse...
When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose.

You're invisible now, you got no secrets to conceal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

Here is where my heads at on this wonderful Saturday morning

Blackbird
Lennon/McCartney

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly.
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see.
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free.
Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.
Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly.
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

Yeah right on, if you know any kind of soul and blues you know this old skool tune for sure.

I think just about all the old greats have covered this song.

Original by Mahalia Jackson? not to sure...

Know it was a loooooooong time ago....

Im playing it on my girlfriends old scratchy guitar.

(I should say wife), we are engaged after all....i just got to get used to it :D

Its a great little number to get some rythym going for a practice.

I like your taste in music man :)

Really strange, Tex.

I woke up this morning humming that, well before I checked out IC.

We must be on the same wavelength today, huh?

Nice choices everyone, I love this thread! Makes me smile every time.

Artist Lyrics: Jethro Tull
Song Lyrics: Roll Yer Own
Album Lyrics: Catfish Rising

Roll yer own. Don't mean you got no money.
Only that you got no opportunity to shake it with that friend of mine.
Roll yer own if you can't buy readymade;
you won't be satisfied when you feel the sudden need
to unwind.
You know what moves you in the wee hours
when there's nothing on the answerphone.
And if you don't get enough of that electric love
don't try to get by ---
roll yer own, roll it when there's no-one listening:
when those re-runs play on the late-night
black and white TV.
Roll yer own, roll it when there's something missing
and those wild cats howl, running in the moonshine.

Roll yer own: you got to hit that spot.
Roll yer own when your hands are hot.

Jack was really a jester
Who held his one good eye on the queen
And there sat the king beside her
He's pointing his sword up and down with every scene
And the wizard's in the corner
Catching peanuts between his teeth
And the dogs lying in the shadow in the archway
There's one good dog sleeping filled with good ol' dog dreams

He slipped next to the wizard
Whispered something deep, to the bottom of his ear
A little joke, the one about the farmer's daughter
How she was stomping on grapes, coming up with blue feet and beer
And he slipped behind the queen
Where the fools go the rich don't mind
Lately the king's (k)nights have turned a little rusty
And his halo - I mean his crown - has gone and slipped around his eyes

The wizard's in the corner
Pulling lizards between his knees
And the dog he been long gone
Gone to pitch for the winning team
Fifty-two, I mean fifty-four bicycles on the wall
Ready to ride, ready to ride until the last of them falls
Jack's been cooking in the kitchen
Whompin' up some biscuits for us all
For us all, For us all
Ready to ride, ready to ride, ride
