Koon's Alpine guerrilla experience

Greetings OD growers,
finally my dreams are partially realised.

Since I started smoking and appreciating the cannabis plant, I wanted to have some alpine bud, grown in subalpine climate in the highland mixed woods, the kind of place that brings peace in the heart.
The subalpine woods and general landscape are rich with aromas and turbulent air that awakens the skin and raises the consciousness to another level.

So I decided to give it a shot this season, a very cool IC member gave away some of his seeds for this purpose and finally the pieces just came together.

The main strain for this purpose is called Purple Nepal and seems to be of nepalese origin acclimatised for mid-north europe, bred in Denmark(I think).
The other strains I'm putting in the mix are KC33(two phenos), a friend's cross of Typhoon x Shaman and another northern acclimatised strain, the Pekhu ruderalis.

All seeds are regular, this grow is basically a seed run and an experiment of cannabis' ability to stand the kind of environment we find up in the mountains.

Some details:

the plants were all around 2 weeks old at transplant, not so developed due to small pots and rubbish soil, but sprouts were standing well. Just starting the 4th set of leaves and healthy roots.
The soil I put them in is native forest soil, mossy and black, with nice woody aroma of pines and berries. Some small additions were made, high P guano, slow release pellet fertiliser with added microelements and microorganisms, some wood ash and zeolite. Just a handful of the mixture was added to every plant.

Weather was just perfect, overcast and fairly windy, soil was pretty moist due to heay rains the day before. The road to the site experienced some minor avalanches and falling rocks, but that's normal for the area.

Oh yes, I took only one measure of security against deer, a bottle of my urine placed in a hole by a rock in the middle of the place, sprayed a bit of it all around to mark my territory:)

The plan is to maybe visit the site in max a month when I'm on vacation, just to see if they survived transplant and hungry animals. I really hope they make it as there is a lot of green feed for the deer around.

Enough talk, here are some pictures.

Thanx RosettaStoned!
It's very pictoresque up there, on the way there were hundreds of good places, but harder to access. So this must do it.

Hoping my piss bottle does its thing:)

Lovely spot there Koondense, only good ganja grows at 1000 meters :) its a shame you didnt use green plastic net against birds..its cheap, stealth and protects a bit against hail.
Cant wait to see some progress...Saludos brate!

I didn't think of that! Damn.

Well, let's say the weather will make its selection for the sturdiest bitches:)
Yeah gotta love highland bud, I once had a chance to smoke a joint of Tolminska domaca and it was something else. Tasty and full on pine/cedar aroma, deep green and overall wonderful. No idea on strain.

Saludos comrades!

This is near Vogel:)
I wish it was Krnsko jezero, had in mind the place but not enough time to do it. Next year definitely with true nepalese and ace ot hfh erdpurt probably.
Damn I wish petrol was cheaper!

Db808 - I suppose mid september to mid october, depending on frost date. Higher up it hits 0°C at nights during summertime.
This grow is a test and seedrun, so if things go well I'll end up some nice alpine beans and maybe some buds.

Last weekend I was camping in the Alps, hiking and enjoying the nature.
Good chance to stop by my plants and see how they are doing:)

This is probably the only update until end september or early october when I'll go harvest them.
Most of them are good, two were eaten and one started flowering very soon after transplant, he's male.

They are still small plants, should be transplanted earlier or more developed for reaching bigger size, but I don't aim for big plants up in the mountains, small is good for what I want.

Pekhu male

KC33(probably female) and Purple Nepal
